ulti-faceted performer and Emmy Award winner John Leguizamo is to makes his UK debut  in his Broadway hit Ghetto Klown,  at Charing Cross Theatre for 17 performances only fromTuesday 25th October - Saturday 12th November.

In Leguizamo’s trademark style, Ghetto Klown explodes with energy, leading audiences on a fever-pitch adventure and heating up the stage with vivid accounts of where he’s been and the colourful characters that have populated his life.  Leguizamo takes audiences from his adolescent memories in Queens to the early days of his acting career during the outrageous 80s avant-garde theatre scene, and on to the sets of major motion pictures and his roles opposite some of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

Ghetto Klown, directed by Fisher Stevens, earned Leguizamo a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Solo Performance, an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Solo Performance and a Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance.

John Leguizamo created an Off-Broadway sensation with his first solo show, Mambo Mouth (Obie and Outer Critics Circle Awards). His second, Spic-O-Rama, enjoyed extended sold-out runs in Chicago and New York (Dramatists’ Guild, Lucille Lortel and Drama Desk Awards). This was followed by Freak (Tony Award nomination), which following Broadway in 1998, was aired on HBO, directed by Spike Lee and won Leguizamo an Emmy Award. He returned to Broadway in 2001 with 
Sexaholix…a Love Story (Outer Critics Circle and Tony Award nominations). 

His numerous films include Lincoln Lawyer, Righteous Kill Love in the Time of Cholera, The Happening, Assault on Precinct 13, Moulin Rouge, Summer of Sam, Spawn, William 
Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet, To Wong Foo Thanks For Everything Julie Newma, Carlito’s Way and Casualties of War. Leguizamo also delights younger fans as the voice of Sid the Sloth in Ice Age 1, 2 and 3 (that have to date earned almost $2 billion worldwide. A fourth Ice Age film is currently in the works
