NICKELBACK

HERE AND NOW DEBUTS AT #2 ON THE BILLBOARD TOP 200 CHART WITH THE HIGHEST DEBUT OF A NEW ALBUM THIS WEEK AND ONE OF THE CLOSEST MARGINS BETWEEN #1 AND #2 IN HISTORY

HIGHEST INTERNATIONAL DEBUTS IN THE BAND’S CAREER TAKING THE
#1 SPOT IN CANADA, AUSTRALIA AND JAPAN

#2 IN GERMANY, TOP FIVE IN AUSTRIA AND SWITZERLAND; TOP TEN IN THE UK & NEW ZEALAND

Multi-platinum rock band Nickelback returns to the top of the charts with Here and Now debuting in the #2 spot on the Billboard Top 200 selling 226,714 copies, one of the closest margins between #1 and #2 in the history of the chart with just 419 units between the two spots.  Here and Now was released November 21, 2011 on Roadrunner Records, a Warner Music Group label, and is the highest debut of a new album this week.  Here and Now is the follow up of 2008’s Dark Horse which also debuted in the #2 spot.  2005’s All The Right Reasons debuted at #1.

"We are thrilled with the debut of our new record Here and Now and deeply appreciate that our fans have embraced it all over the world,” said front man Chad Kroeger.   “It’s truly an amazing feeling for us.  We are so thankful that we get to make music for our fans and can’t wait to play the new songs when we hit the road next year."

Propelling Here and Now into the #2 spot are the two chart climbing hit singles that were released simultaneously.  “When We Stand Together” is currently in the top 15 on the Hot AC chart and “Bottoms Up” is currently in the #2 position on the Rock chart.

Here and Now is also the biggest international debut in Nickelback’s history.  The album debuted at #1 in Canada, Australia and Japan, #2 in Germany, top 5 in Austria, Switzerland and South Africa marking the highest debuts in the band’s career in those markets.  These chart positions alongside strong debuts in New Zealand at #7, UK at #10 and top 20 in Norway and Holland round out a phenomenal week for the band.

Produced by Nickelback and recorded at Mountain View Studios, Vancouver, BC, Here and Now is Nickelback’s seventh studio record and is the follow up to 2008’s widely successful Dark Horse which has been certified 3-times platinum, approaching eight million digital single sales and more than 61 million video plays over the course of the album’s campaign.

Nickelback is one the biggest rock bands in the world having sold almost 45 million worldwide. Since their 2001 breakthrough hit song "How You Remind Me," Nickelback has sent 18 singles rocketing onto various Billboard charts.

Nickelback’s now classic All The Right Reasons insured Nickelback an indelible place in rock history, spending a staggering 112 consecutive weeks in the Top 30 of the Billboard Top 200, certified 8-times platinum in the U.S. and having sold more than 11 million copies worldwide, topping charts in four countries. All The Right Reasons spun off seven multi-format singles and made Nickelback the first band in Nielsen BDS history to send five singles onto the CHR charts. All five of the album's videos hit No. 1 on VH1's playlist, while Nickelback has sold almost 12 million single digital downloads and more than 9 million ringtones of the album's songs. All The Right Reasons won the American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Album and helped the quartet to three Billboard Music Awards in 2006 and a pair of Juno Awards in Canada. And on the road, Nickelback has sold more than 2 million concert tickets over the course of the album cycle.

Nickelback will embark on a new world tour in support of the release in early 2012 with dates to be announced shortly.
