E4 Udderbelly Festival

The 2011 E4 Udderbelly Festival is now underway, with a showstopper of a festival season at Southbank Centre (including a world exclusive free running show specifically created for and by the Udderbelly).

The season features the very best of family and big night out entertainment, offering cutting edge comedy, cabaret, theatre, music, children’s entertainment and physical spectacle.

The E4 Udderbelly Festival will hit the ground running this summer with the world premiere of high-octane, physical spectacular Free Run. Combining the explosive action sport of free running, with parkour, acrobatics and martial arts, Free Run has been created exclusively for Udderbelly as the festival's headline show. It is the first time a show of this nature has ever been presented onstage in the UK.

In addition to the big summer spectacular, they have ‘National Treasure’ Barry Cryer in the cow as part of Southbank Centre’s Festival of Britain 60th anniversary celebrations with Mastercard, Dom Joly brings his first ever live show to us, award-winning comedy from the likes of Brendon Burns and Glenn Wool, enchanting childrens shows including Not So Grimm Fairy Tales! and Propeller’s sixty minute version of its award-winning production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Pocket Dream. Finally, looking for a night out like no other? More late night shenanigans are announced with the return of our smash-hit sellout Alternative Eurovision Song Contest and the Friday Night Freak Show.

Back for the 3rd year in London, it's bigger, brighter and udderly more spectacular. Your destination, should you choose to accept it, is Udderbelly.

"It's A Dog's Life" - Wizard Of Oz: Comic Relief Gala Performance

Written By Steve Stubbs on Thursday, 28 April 2011 | 22:09

Danielle Hope wasn't the only winner of 'Over The Rainbow', there was another role to be won for a one off Gala Performance - the role of TOTO.

Dangerous Dave was the eventual winner, a Miniature Schnauzer owned by Rachel Owen, and took the starring role on the 21st April 2011 at the London Palladium.

The five finalists, and two from the final ten all keep in touch on a regular basis, becoming good friends and going out for walks and days out.

I spoke to Shelley Webster, owner of Great Dane "Strider" (remember him?) about the Gala evening:
"One of the judges from the show, Sarah Fisher has also become a good friend and we keep in touch. Sarah is married to the actor Anthony Head and has two actress daughters Emily Head (Inbetweeners) and Daisy Head (The Last Seven, Rules Of Love). Sarah is a TTouch practitioner which is a kind of massage for animals that helps with tensions, behaviour problems balance etc.
We arranged for us all to meet for a meal before the show so we did!"

MARTI PELLOW stars in Jekyll and Hyde

JEKYLL & HYDE
Monday 23 to Saturday 28 May 2011
Regent Theatre, Stoke-on-Trent

Marti Pellow, the hugely successful singer, songwriter and front man of Wet Wet Wet, makes a hotly-anticipated return to the UK stage in a major new tour of the hit Broadway musical, Jekyll and Hyde.

The show is at Stoke’s Regent Theatre from Monday 23 to Saturday 28 May 2011.

Marti’s career began when he formed the band Wet Wet Wet with his school friends, which went on to become one of the most successful and highly acclaimed bands in British pop history. The band enjoyed consistent chart topping multi-platinum albums and have been nominated and won major industry awards including the Ivor Novello’s and The Brits. Their 1994 single “Love Is All Around”, featured on the soundtrack to the romantic comedy of the 90s, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and continues to be one of the top five highest selling singles and most played songs of all time in the UK.

As well as a critically-acclaimed solo career, Marti has gone on to star in the West End, on Broadway and on National Tour in the smash-hit stage musicals Chicago and The Witches of Eastwick. He also co-starred with Josh Groban in the TV and film special Chess in Concert and most recently gained huge personal accolades from his performance on BBC Radio 2’s Elvis Forever concert.

Glamorous, sexy and deliciously wicked in equal measures, Jekyll and Hyde is based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic gothic novella. Pellow stars as the brilliant but obsessive scientist whose sadistic alter ego wreaks havoc across Victorian London in a dark tale of love, redemption and the seductive power of evil.

ROXETTE to Play First Live Show in UK for 17 Years

ROXETTE TO PLAY FIRST LIVE SHOW IN THE UK FOR 17 YEARS

Live Nation are thrilled to announce that legendary pop duo Roxette are to return to the UK for the first time in 17 years to play a very special live show at London’s Wembley Arena on the 15th November.

Roxette - Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle – cameout of Sweden in the late 80's. Their game was pop, their mission to conquer the world. With 33 chart-busting singles and total record sales 75 million, it’s seems safe to say “mission accomplished”. Except for one thing. It ain’t over yet. Biding their time during Marie Fredriksson’s recovery after her brain tumour operation in 2002, the band has gradually staged a comeback that has climaxed with the release of their new album ‘Charm School’ and their current World Tour. After an extremely successful start in Kazan, Russia and massive response, Roxette have decided to extend the tour in to this fall.

“The concerts have been amazing so far, says Per Gessle. Marie and the band are in top shape and the response has been incredible. And the way the new album has been received is great. We feel very fortunate and look forward to a very exciting year!”

Roxette’s brand new album ”Charm School” was released in the UK on 28th March via EMI. It went straight to no 1 on the German, Czech and Swiss album charts the week of the release and is heading for platinum status in Sweden. The first single “She’s Got Nothing On (but the Radio)” is moving up in a way not seen in almost 20 years – last week it made Top 10 on Germany’s official singles chart. Last time Roxette was Top 10 in Germany was in 1992 with “How Do You Do!”. In the UK, BBC Radio 2 added “She’s Got Nothing On (but the Radio)” to their A list and have made ‘Charm School’ their album of the week. This week the single is the highest new entry at the UK Radio Airplay Chart!

With a catalogue of mega hits, including ‘Must Have Been Love’, ‘Joyride’, ‘The Look’, ‘Listen To Your Heart’, ‘How Do You Do’, ‘Sleeping In My Car’ and ‘Dressed For Success’, this is set to be one of THE live events of the 2011 calendar.

ROGER DALTREY to perform 'Tommy' LIVE

ROGER DALTREY TO PERFORM
THE WHO’S LEGENDARY “TOMMY” ALBUM
 FROM START TO FINISH
THE SET WILL ALSO INCLUDE A VARIETY OF
THE WHO’S CLASSICS AND MORE

Roger Daltrey, the iconic lead singer of The Who, will perform The Who’s legendary rock opera TOMMY from start to finish at selected shows throughout the UK this summer. Daltrey recently premiered Tommy from start to finish at The Royal Albert Hall in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust on March 25th. Roger is now taking it on the road, beyond the majesty of TOMMY, each night music fans will also be treated to a variety of Who Classics and more.
Employing the use of striking visuals to accompany the music, every show will be an unforgettable concert experience for lifelong fans and newcomers alike.  The much-anticipated tour will hit the road in July (dates below) Tickets for the tour go on sale May 6th at 9am from www.livenation.co.uk

Rock And Roll Hall of Fame inductee DALTREY is pulling out all the stops with a full backing band that will bring the rock opera’s wide-ranging sounds and textures to life vibrantly on stage every evening. Joining DALTREY will be Frank Simes (guitar), Scott Deavours (drums), Jon Button(Bass), Loren Gold (Keyboards) and also on guitar will be SIMON TOWNSHEND, younger brother of The Who’s guitarist PETE TOWNSHEND
Pete Townshend, commenting on the tour says ''Great to see Roger performing TOMMY with his band in 2011. I will be there in spirit, and Roger has my complete and most loving support. Roger is touring his unique concert version of TOMMY using his faithful presentation of the original work as the backbone for a set of  wider material ...it is wonderful to hear the way Roger and his new band re-interpret the old Who songs.''
A 1989 tour by The Who saw them reprise TOMMY live; the upcoming DALTREY tour will differ in that all of the album’s songs will be played. When DALTREY and his band performed TOMMY in March 2011 at a sell out concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall, The Independent called  the show “a faithful reading...The stand-outs, ‘I'm Free,’ and ‘See Me, Feel Me’ and the anthemic climax of ‘We're Not Gonna Take It’ are rousing. ”Afterwards the Who blogosphere was alight with comments from  long standing fans lucky enough to see the show such as ''Roger nailed Tommy'' and ''last nights concert was the best I've ever seen-what a great band''
Roger describes the show and visuals as ''A Tommy Show for today's audience from a different perspective''

SHED SEVEN Announce "Maximum Hits and Maximum Highs" UK Tour

Written By Steve Stubbs on Tuesday, 26 April 2011 | 13:19

Shed Seven 2011 Tour

Maximum Hits and Maximum Highs

Shed seven have announced they are to embark on a UK tour this December. Following the huge success of their last two sell-out tours, the band will return to the road to play a selection of their hit singles whilst also celebrating the 15th anniversary of their platinum selling album “A Maximum High” by revisiting several of the tracks from that album.

Lead singer Rick Witter said “It’s fantastic to be getting back on the road again. I can’t believe 15 years have passed since A Maximum High and it will be good to revisit one or two songs that have been untouched for many years. We’ve got a few tricks up our sleeve for this tour, we want to be doing something a bit different each time we go out. We’ll also be playing the hits you’d expect to hear, it wouldn’t be a Shed gig without Chasing Rainbows would it?!.”

A Maximum High spawned 4 of the record 5 top 40 singles the band notched up in 1996, which included Going for Gold and Getting Better, and saw the band break into the Britpop big league. The album went top 10 in the UK and the band toured it around the world.

“In those days it was all Top of the Pops, Chris Evans, Richard and Judy and flying around the world. Obviously a lot’s changed in 15 years, personally you’re as likely to find me on the school run as swinging my mic lead on the stage but hopefully we’ve proved that good songs played by a good band, stand the test of time and I still feel the stage is where I’m meant to be. Shed gigs are somewhere people can lose themselves and sing their hearts out for 2 hours. See you at the front…..”

Annie Mac Presents - which started in a single room at Fabric – reaches a new milestone in 2011. The May AMP party will move to the 5000 capacity Brixton Academy after 5 years of providing the nation with an entry point to the best of new electronic dance music. That period has seen the country’s adoption of the most adventurous and vital sounds incubating its club cultures. While providing the scene with a nourishing platform, AMP has grown with the popularity of the sounds it supports.

Brixton fittingly sees the return of two breakout stars of the AMP firmament. What is left to say about Mssrs Skream & Benga, apart from the fact that they bring sub frequency carnage to any dance. The rest of Mac co-signed line up is equally in demand. Fake Blood will be debuting his highly anticipated live show. Breakage continues to emerge as the next huge star of the scene. The sensual shuffle of current single ‘Fighting Fire’ is hotting up the nation as we speak.
Responsible for over 350 releases Shy FX is a legend and a pioneer. Latest jam ‘Raver’ featuring Donaeo (performing on the night) is a musical homage to UK bass culture since jungle. Hospital Record’s Danny Byrd has taken UK charts for the true D&B massive with his 2010 single ‘Ill Behaviour’. Representing for the MCs is Mz Bratt – grime’s first lady in waiting. Warming up in the main room is AMP resident and Rinse FM DJ Monki.

As befits the legendary venue, Room 2 boasts a line up that would pack out most clubs. IDJ player of the year Riva Starr brings his signature blended ‘Mezcla’ house bounce. Other fans of tech house mixed with influences from crunk to Brazilian percussion are Panorama Bar favourites Zombie Disco Squad. Sweden’s leading party starters Savage Skulls are hot off their release with Douster and Robyn on Mad Decent. Completing room 2 is Rachel Barton; champion of all things deep, bassy and percussive with her monthly Lively nights and a producer of growing powers. Meanwhile, Room 3 is hosted by Bestival maven of music and hedonism Rob Da Bank and the VIP will be a mini Lively also featuring its resident Christian Nockall.

AMP has stepped up to fill one of London’s iconic large venues for a new generation of ravers.

Review: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - New Wimbledon Theatre

Written By Steve Stubbs on Wednesday, 20 April 2011 | 19:17

Tues 19th April 7.30pm

Before the search for Nancy and Dorothy, came Andrew Lloyd Webber’s search for a leading man to star in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.  ‘Any Dream Will Do’ and the West End production that followed may now seem like a distant memory but Bill Kenwright’s touring production of the show is still going strong and continues to delight audiences all over the country, or so it seems, judging by last night’s performance at the New Wimbledon Theatre.

Even before the show had started, the level of excitement as the auditorium filled up was palpable and the audience reaction throughout the show lived up to this initial promise.  The cast, clearly feeding off the atmosphere, were similarly buzzing and the encore, which included a medley of all of the catchiest songs in the show, resulted in the whole theatre singing and clapping along and every member of the stalls on their feet.  It was hard to tell who was enjoying themselves more – the cast or the audience!

As for the cast, Joseph is currently played by ‘Any Dream Will Do’ runner-up Keith Jack, who proves himself well worthy of the part that he narrowly missed out on to eventual winner Lee Mead in the West End production.  His rendition of ‘Close Every Door’ is not far short of Mead’s performance and he proves very popular with the audience.  Pharaoh (Adam Jarrell) and all of Joseph’s brothers provide great comic moments and are similarly well received.  A specific mention should also go to Jennifer Potts who does wonderfully as the narrator.  It is often forgotten that the narrator’s role can be as vocally challenging as that of Joseph and she steps up to the challenge, matching Jack comfortably, and providing vocals with great warmth and often surprising power.

What works about this production is that it does not take itself too seriously.  It works to its own strengths, playing up the songs (with a long encore) and the comedy moments, and not pretending to be something that it is not.  It is not profound or deeply moving but it is undoubtedly very good fun.  Judging by the rapturous applause and standing ovation at the end I would highly doubt anybody left the theatre without feeling uplifted and sometimes that is exactly what musical theatre is all about.

A treat for all the family, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is running at the New Wimbledon Theatre until Saturday 23rd April.  For the full list of tour dates and to book tickets visit http://www.kenwright.com

A new 2010 cast album featuring ‘Any Dream Will Do’ contestant Craig Chalmers as Joseph is also now available exclusively on tour.

Samuel Beckett's Footfalls, presented by Six Lips Theatre, is the debut production for this small and all female ensemble.

Set in the basement of York's Bar Lane Studios, the audience are immersed into a dark world immediately on entrance. The dirty stairs and floor are strewn with burnt books, maps, dead flowers and broken crockery which makes Jess Mather's set design quite striking. On closer inspection, a few dead cockroaches showed just how much thought, energy and time had been put in to create such an oppressive atmosphere, where an audience feel they don't belong for a precise hour.

Catherine Richards' costume design complements both the set and intended atmosphere, right down to the detailed make up by Emily Pease (including blackened talons for May's toenails!).

Anna Rose James plays the role of May incredibly well. Her expressions and mannerisms depict a gaunt and weak figure who is in search of 'it all' or whatever 'it all' may be. As she paces nine steps back and forth between two lights (as to Beckett's intentions) the silence of the space gives a somewhat uncomfortable feeling.

The offstage Voice (Roxanna Klimaszewska) in the play is positioned in the upstage left corner of the room for this production. Difficult to hear at times, the frail voice is amplified via radio mic, with the sound coming from behind the audience. This is disorientating as you expect the sound to come directly from the character.

Directed by Hannah Wallace, 'Footfalls' leaves the audience wondering what 'it all' is and during an opportunity to ask questions to the cast after the production, the director's intentions were such that the audience must search for their own answers and we were left trying to figure out what had occurred in the uncomfortable hour we had spent in Beckett's world.

A short film after the interval titled 'Sequel' by Paul Richardson, provided another response to Beckett's text, with the character of May wandering around a church yard, accompanied by and eery soundtrack. Again, it left the audience trying to make sense of 'it all'.

'Footfalls' is showing until Saturday 23rd April 2011 at Bar Lane Studios, York.

Tour Preview: An Irish Summer with Boyzone & Westlife

Written By Lisa Davidson on Monday, 18 April 2011 | 10:19

An Irish Summer with Boyzone & Westlife

If you fancy reliving your teens this summer or simply enjoying a, hopefully, balmy summer night of music then these are the gigs for you. Both Westlife and Boyzone have special tour dates this summer in a variety of unusual venues across the UK. Boyzone have not long wrapped their ‘Brother’ tour, their first since the tragic loss of band member Stephen Gately, while Westlife have just completed the final dates of their hugely successful ‘Gravity’ tour.

A week before Westlife, Boyzone’s tour arrived at Glasgow’s SECC on 12th March. The Brother tour was always going to be a difficult one for the band and fans alike but it paid tribute to their missing band mate whilst still providing a great night out. Boyzone have never been able to challenge the crossover appeal of Take That yet their successful back catalogue sells itself and their last album Brother provides a wealth of strong material for the building blocks of this enjoyable tour.

Westlife’s Gravity tour hit the SECC on 19th March and they never fail to disappoint their fans. After 12 years together Westlife still put on an incredibly show packed with energy and this year’s was certainly a master class in why they are so successful. Any group that can effortlessly turn their hand to Rihanna, Coldplay, the Kaiser Chiefs and the Black Eyed Peas while slotting it seamlessly into their own extensive back catalogue is undeniably talented. They had the audience in the palm of their hand all night and begging for more by the end.

If you fancy some Irish fun this summer you can check out Boyzone or Westlife at any one of these outdoor venues:

Westlife Summer 2011 Dates
10th June - Hampton Court Palace
19th June - The Isle of Man festival
9th July - Live at the Marquee in Cork
15th July – Thetford Forest
16th July – Westonbirt Arboretum
23rd July – Hamilton Racecourse with special guests Wonderland

Boyzone Summer 2011 Dates
6th Aug – Hopetoun House, Edinburgh with special guests The Saturdays
7th Aug – Lytham Green, Lancashire
27th Aug – Northern Meeting Park, Inverness with special guest Shayne Ward

SEASICK STEVE To Hit Streets Of London

Seasick Steve to hit Streets of London

Seasick Steve will headline this year’s Streets of London Concert for Homelessness, at London’s Camden Electric Ballroom on Thursday 26th May. Prior to appearances at several major festivals this summer, fans will have the chance to see Steve performing his foot-stomping Delta blues up close and personal at this one-off, intimate club show.
It will be an opportunity for fans to hear some songs for the first time, as Steve will be performing material from his forthcoming album 'You Can't Teach An Old Dog New Tricks', set for release on 30th May.
Streets of London is an initiative that raises awareness about homelessness and raises funds for front-line services with some great live music. This will be the second Streets of London concert, following a show in March last year by ‘Sweet About Me’ star Gabriella Cilmi at the ICA.
All proceeds from the night will go to The Connection at St Martin’s, a day centre near Trafalgar Square that provides specialist support to more than 200 homeless people each day.
Speaking about his appearance at the event, Seasick Steve - who has previously experienced homelessness himself - has this to say:
I hope you all come, I believe this is for a real good thing. At least, I'm gonna be there”.
Two specially commissioned short films will be screened at the show. These films challenge preconceptions about homelessness by showing those affected as individuals in crisis rather than stereotypes. They show that many of the situations that force people into homelessness are things that could happen to any of us.
Bill, a businessman who slept rough for a period, says this: "For anybody who says it could never happen to me, I can tell you I had the same sentiments and it did happen to me. You can never tell what's round the corner. It can happen to anybody."

Thurs 26th May              Camden Electric Ballroom,
Tickets onsale now  priced at £22.50  (subject to booking fee) and are available from www.livenation.co.uk

BIG COUNTRY to play new dates either side of Isle Of Wight Festival

Written By Steve Stubbs on Thursday, 14 April 2011 | 18:35

BIG COUNTRY TO PLAY DATES EITHER SIDE OF ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL APPEARANCE

Big Country have announced two  dates either side of their forthcoming appearance at The Isle of Wight Festival on Friday 10th June.

Currently in the middle of a hugely successful tour of the UK with Mike Peters from The Alarm on lead vocals, Big Country will continue their welcome return to the fold with a pre-festival warm-up date at The Brook in Southampton on Thursday 9th of June, and will then celebrate with a post-festival date at The Phoenix in Exeter on Saturday 11th June, where the band will work in some new material.

Tickets for both dates are £20 and go on sale at 9.00am on Friday 15th April at www.gigsandtours.com

The first show Big Country played with new lead singer, Mike Peters, from fellow Celtic rockers The Alarm, took place on New Year’s Eve at the ABC in Glasgow. It was a hugely emotional night, with the sell-out crowd giving Mike their full support on his Big Country debut. At the end of the show Peters said to the crowd, “Thanks for looking after me.”

Approaching their 30th anniversary, the latest confirmed dates continue to mark a period of celebration that will not only embrace Big Country’s illustrious past but also honour the life and times of original lead singer, guitarist and co-founder Stuart Adamson, who passed away so tragically in 2001.

With Big Country fans wholeheartedly embracing the band’s UK tour dates, the national press were quick to follow suit, with News of The World delivering the ultimate accolade by declaring, “Stuart Adamson would have approved.”

"I first met Stuart on stage at a U2 concert in Hammersmith Palais back in 1983", says Mike Peters. "Bono introduced us to his audience as being "part of the new breed" and Stuart was literally passed up onto the stage by the fans and I shook his hand as I handed him a guitar - an unforgettable entrance. The last time I saw him was also on stage with Big Country at Glasgow Barrowlands for the last night of the Final Fling tour in 2000, when we sang Neil Young's 'Rockin' In The Free World' together. When Bruce Watson called and asked me to sing for Big Country it was something I didn't need to think twice about. It’s been an incredible honour getting to know the music of Big Country intimately and a pleasure to be around such great musicians and fans alike. I find singing the lyrics of Stuart Adamson very life affirming”

Bass guitarist Tony Butler says, "To be received and get the responses we got was inspiring. Mike did us proud and was accepted by the audiences because he was himself but paid due respect to Stuarts memory and songs. Jamie was a surprise addition, for a young lad he did brilliantly. We were all blown away by the reception."

Drummer Mark Brzezicki said, “Along with the constant warmth and affection shown to Big Country by its dedicated fans from around the world, and on its 30th anniversary, it feels right and fitting that Big Country continue the journey. Mike Peters has done us proud, and as Stuart always said, “When taking a journey, it's not about the getting there, it’s enjoying the view on the way”.

Co-founder member Bruce Watson added, “Both Jamie and I had a blast playing with my old mates Tony and Mark. Mike brings so much to this band and is the hardest working man I know. I am convinced he wears a superman costume under that jacket”.

The new line up consists of:

Tony Butler - Bass Guitar and Vocals
Mark Brzezicki - Drums and Vocals
Mike Peters - Vocals and Guitar
Bruce Watson - Guitar and Vocals
Jamie Watson - Guitar

THE REVIVAL TOUR Coming To UK

THE REVIVAL TOUR COMING TO UK/EUROPE Featuring Chuck Ragan, Brian Fallon, Dan Andriano, Dave Hause
SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2011

Folk music was born from a rich tradition of giving and openness-and no one has done more to bring that original spirit back to the genre in recent years than Chuck Ragan has with his Revival Tour. Ragan-who is well-known as both a solo artist as well as guitarist/vocalist for the legendary punk act Hot Water Music-conceptualized the idea for The Revival Tour in 2005, however it didn't come to fruition until 2008 when Ragan hit the road with Avail's Tim Barry, Lucero's Ben Nichols and a cast of revolving guests-including Against Me!'s Tom Gabel-for the tour's inaugural year.

This year the tour will hit the UK and mainland Europe. Joining Chuck will be Brian Fallon from The Gaslight Anthem, Dan Andriano from Alkaline Trio and Dave Hause from The Loved Ones. Accompaniment by Jon Gaunt on fiddle and Joe Ginsberg on upright bass will round out the crew.

"The most important part of The Revival Tour is the camaraderie and the way people are drawn to each other whether they're playing a mandolin, singing, playing fiddle or there to see the show," Ragan explains. "We live and breathe this music and I think it's just a natural instinct for people who believe and live music to want to share that with other like-minded musicians," he summarizes.

Sep 28 UK Manchester, Academy 2

TINIE TEMPAH UK Arena Tour 2011

Written By Steve Stubbs on Wednesday, 13 April 2011 | 20:22

BLACKBERRY PRESENTS
‘TINIE TEMPAH UK ARENA TOUR’
EXTRA SHOWS ADDED IN WEMBLEY, NOTTINGHAM, GLASGOW AND ABERDEEN
WITH VERY SPECIAL GUEST J.COLE

"His approach has spoken to a generation louder than any other British musician has in years... [and] what we get is an unashamed pop show, powered by choruses and charisma." NME

Due to phenomenal demand, award winning artist Tinie Tempah has announced that there will be extra shows in Wembley, Nottingham, Glasgow and Aberdeen added to the ‘Blackberry presents Tinie Tempah’ tour.

It was announced that J.Cole; the first artist signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label, has been added as Very Special Guest on Tinie’s forthcoming arena tour. Cole recently toured the UK on the sell out Drake tour to stunning critical acclaim. Please note that J. Cole will not be supporting on these 4 additional shows.

Tinie Tempah’s number one, debut album ‘Disc-overy’ has sold over half a million copies to date and earned him 2 Brit Awards - one for Best Single for track ‘Pass Out’ and the other for Best Breakthrough Artist, both of which were voted for by the public. The album has also spawned 2 number one singles’ Pass Out’ (certified Platinum) and ‘Written In The Stars’ (certified Gold) and 2 top five singles ‘Miami 2 Ibiza’ and ‘Frisky’. His fifth single ‘Wonderman’ featuring Ellie Goulding was released last week.

J.Cole made himself notable through a scholarly approach to the game – no small feat considering his Magna Cum Laude distinction upon graduating from St. John’s University. If his sudden christening by JAY-Z shocked the haters, their doubts were quickly refuted when J. Cole dropped his recent mixtape The Warm Up, as well as a coveted guest verse on JAY-Z’s Blueprint 3 with “A Star is Born”. The mixtape encapsulates not just who J. Cole is as a rapper, but who he is as an artist and a person.

As well as his arena tour later in the year, Tinie Tempah will also be rocking crowds at various UK festivals including Wireless with Barclaycard in Hyde Park.

‘It is a lovely moment for all concerned when a performer such as this enters his pomp.’ The Times

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - New Show Announced

Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros

New Show Announced

London O2 Shepherds Bush Empire

Following the success of their sell out Old Vic Tunnels shows last month Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic  Zeros have announced a headline show at London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on Monday 18th July.

Birthed by Mouth in the year two-thousand and five, young Edward Sharpe had to wait nearly two years before he was to grow his arms and legs and fingers and toes. Immaculately conceived, his father (a Robot who had magically become a real boy…but that’s another story) declared his undying devotion to the creature. He perched the fleshy bust upon a teetering pedestal fashioned from stacked cereal boxes and positioned the display at his window for all the town to see. Young Edward soon proved no ordinary boy. Though his father had figured him deaf for his unresponsiveness to sounds, he in fact had the universally unique condition of being deaf from hearing too much or, more correctly put, too well.

In plain words, he heard EVERYTHING AT ONCE. At first it proved rather painful like a wretched whining winding all hours, but very soon those who whisper visited young Edward and revealed to him the Tricks and Truths, the Ways and Plays, the Chords and Dischords of the Universe. He did not need to eat but the color of the sun, which was F#, and moved his bones to grow. His arms and legs and fingers and toes grew ‘til the tower of boxes collapsed and he laughed. He moved through the door which was C over B# and ran through the village hearing ALL of its music! The workers and children and painters of buildings and dogs barking madly and trees bristling softly and OH!!

Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros announced an appearance at Latitude festival before their new London show, details below.

Mon 18th July     London O2 Shepherds Bush Empire         0844 477 2000

Tickets are £16.00 and are on sale Friday 15 April @ 12pm – www.gigsandtours.com  0844 811 0051
