In the last 5 years Go Dance, produced by the Creative Learning team at the Theatre Royal, has brought together some of the best dance groups in Glasgow and across Scotland making it one of the most prestigious dance events for both professional and non professional company’s in the country.

Go Dance 2012 kicks off with our first ever College Showcase, working with learning establishments to highlight the new and creative dance being created by the next generation of emerging dance artists across Scotland.

During the course of 5 days this ambitious celebration of dance boasts 45 groups incorporating almost 1300 participants reflecting a diverse mix of dance styles happening in communities across Scotland. Go Dance 12 promises to be a truly exciting dance experience packed with energy, creativity and passion. For those groups taking part, this unique event allows community groups, dance schools and all the major dance colleges to showcase their work at one of Glasgow’s premiere institutions.

Creative Learning Manager Sha Nazir said: "The whole week looks amazing and I am so excited that the number of performers has grown ever year since it began. There are so many beautiful pieces being performed by some amazing groups. Since its conception Go Dance has continued to grow each year and we plan to carry on expanding the festival over the years to come.

Spearheaded by the Theatre Royal Creative Learning team, this event aims to reflect the diverse mix of styles currently popular with dancers throughout the country and Scotland’s own diversity.
