JOSS STONE

London show announced – O2 Shepherds Bush Empire 5th September
Tickets priced £25 and on sale Friday 20th July

STONE’D RECORDS JOINS FORCES WITH S-CURVE FOR ‘THE SOUL SESSIONS VOLUME 2’, TO BE RELEASED JULY 23rd 2012.

Following her sold out warm up show at Under The Bridge in Chelsea in May, Grammy and Brit award winner Joss Stone will be playing a headline show at Shepherds Bush Empire on 5th September. Tickets are available from 9am on Friday at www.gigsandtours.com

Stone’s ‘Stone’d Records’ label has joined forces with the label that first signed her, S- Curve Records, for the follow up to Stone’s massive 5 million selling debut album “The Soul Sessions”. “The Soul Sessions Volume 2” will be a joint release between Stone’d and S-Curve and will be released under license in the UK through Warner Music on July 23rd.

Stone reunited with S-Curve’s Steve Greenberg earlier this year to put together an electrifying session in Nashville, with a stellar cast of musicians including the legendary Ernie Isley on guitar, Delbert McClinton and original Muscle Shoals Swamper Clayton Ivey. The resulting album, ‘The Soul Sessions Volume 2’, is a collection of soul gems that showcase a young woman at the height of her vocal powers. 10 years on from the original album, which was recorded by Stone at the tender age of 15, there is undoubtedly a new level of maturity in evidence on this set - a stunning exercise in vocal poise, passion and power.

Stone commented “I really had fun revisiting The Soul Sessions idea and I’m really pleased with the results. I’ve committed long term to my label Stone’d Records, but it felt right to team up with Steve and S-Curve again for this release. I think there are some great songs on the album and I loved performing them with such brilliant musicians - so I hope people enjoy it.”

The album includes versions of classic tracks such as ‘(For God’s Sake) Give More Power To The People’ (originally recorded by the Chi Lites) and ‘The Love We Had’ by the Dells, as well as future single ‘The High Road’ - a stone-cold soul makeover of Broken Bells’ cult hit. The first single from the album will be ‘While You’re Out Looking For Sugar’, originally recorded by The Honey Cone, also out July 23rd.
