Glasgow's King's Theatre Celebrates 108th Anniversary

This week, the King's Theatre celebrated its 108th anniversary in style with the launch of a beautiful new cocktail bar and a performance of Sister Act that left the audience cheering for more.

The King's Theatre ambitious refurbishment and restoration programme has been coming to fruition over the last few years creating a welcoming interior that will continue the theatre's legacy for years to come.

The Picture Lounge bar is a wonderful addition offering opulent surroundings and a delicious range of cocktails - much more than you're average theatre bar. The contemporary surroundings encourage you to linger longer, have another drink and even arrive at the theatre just that little bit earlier before the start of the show.

The team at the bar are rightly proud of this new addition and they were delightedly welcoming enthusiastic patrons. We tried the Jamaican Sonny and a non-alcoholic Mojito Orchard Fizz cocktails both of which we'd highly recommend and were on sale at competitive prices for cocktails in town.

Regional theatre has such an important part to play in building a sustainable audience to secure the future of theatre and these upgrades, plus a glittering array of quality productions scheduled to grace the stage over the coming months, ensures that the King's Theatre's iconic status in Glasgow is secure.
