TICKETS ON SALE NOW

The first opportunity to skate in London this festive season
Opens 2 November 2012

Skate at London’s most enchanting ice rink for a truly magical experience this winter and enjoy après-skate in the free-to-access Café Bar

One of the coolest tickets of London’s winter season, the truly enchanting skating experience that is the Natural History Museum Ice Rink, goes on sale today, Friday 28 September. Now in its eighth year, the Ice Rink, supported by Starbucks and their festive Red Cup offering, will be back in the stunning setting of the Museum from Friday 2 November until Sunday 6 January 2013. Peak sessions sell out very quickly, so advance book at www.nhmskating.com to avoid disappointment.

Set within the Museum’s breathtaking grounds, the ice rink is a charming winter wonderland in the heart of the city. Attracting beginners and advanced skaters alike, as well as those simply wanting to bask in the festive atmosphere, the impressive 1,000 square metre ice rink is a London must-see during winter. For the first time this year, the Ice Rink will boast a spectacular Christmas tree in the middle of the rink, sourced from the Windsor Estate. With 76,000 twinkling fairy lights decorating the surrounding tall trees and framed by a world-renowned landmark, the Ice Rink also features a beautiful fairground carousel and a junior rink for younger skaters, offering an array of entertainment and events for all ages.

This year, the Natural History Museum Ice Rink welcomes Starbucks Coffee Company as lead sponsor. Skaters will be able to warm up with the Red Cup favourites from Starbucks, choosing from the Gingerbread Latte, Pumpkin Spiced Latte, Toffee Nut Latte or Peppermint Mocha, the perfect accompaniment to a wintry day.

For those who don’t wish to take to the ice, but want to soak up the holiday atmosphere and stunning surroundings, the stylish Café Bar offers sumptuous food and drinks including Starbucks Red Cups, with entertainment for all to enjoy. A destination in its own right, the Café Bar is a place where friends can sip on Christmas cocktails, families can feast on festive treats, colleagues can mingle over mulled wine, and couples can cosy up with a hot drink on the open-air balcony overlooking the rink.  The Ice Rink will also partner with stylish Jumeriah Lowndes Hotel with clothing supplied by Mountain Warehouse.
