LAURA WRIGHT hits the high notes at The Royal Opera House

Laura Wright
hits the high notes at
The Royal Opera House

Soprano Laura Wright joins The Royal Ballet for seven performances at The Royal Opera House, in Covent Garden. Marking the 20th anniversary of the death of Kenneth MacMillian, they are combining three performances in celebration of one of The Royal Ballet's greatest and most celebrated choreographers.

Over a period of six nights, The Royal Ballet are performing three of Kenneth MacMillian's one act ballets: Concerto, Las Hermanas and Requiem all in celebration of the choreography of one of ballet's greatest storytellers.

Laura Wright will be providing her outstanding and beautiful vocals to the soprano part in Requiem. This danced Requiem was dedicated by Kenneth MacMillan to the memory of his friend and colleague John Cranko, director of the Stuttgart Ballet. This performance is also conducted by Barry Wordsworth, who coincidentally conducted RPO on Laura's first album The Last Rose.

Laura says "it’s such a pleasure to work with Barry (Wordsworth) again after working together on the first album. I've wanted to perform on this stage since I was a little girl and to have the opportunity at such a young age is a great honour."

A celebration of breathtaking music and stunning dance.
