The legendary Suede kicked off the new run of Sessions, sharing the bill with indie hot property Palma Violets, whose powerful performance featured tracks from their recently released debut album, ‘180’. Suede’s stage presence was as strong as ever as they treated the crowd to classic tracks, including Animal Nitrate, alongside new material from their forthcoming album, ‘Bloodsports’, which is out later this month.

The Sessions are an exclusive series of gigs that the Barclaycard Mercury Prize has established to celebrate live music in the UK and are separate from the Barclaycard Mercury Prize ‘Albums of the Year’. Featuring a range of new and established artists from both the UK and overseas, the Sessions are filmed in front of an audience of around 250 music fans at The Hospital Club in Covent Garden. Tickets to the events are available to music fans through competitions. More details can be found at www.mercuryprize.com

Further tracks will be available to watch online at - www.mercuryprize.com/sessions

Further Sessions dates and lineups will be announced over the coming weeks.
