CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY re-schedules two previews due to problems in the delivery of a piece of stage engineering

The producers of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory have reluctantly taken the decision to reschedule the first two previews of the new stage musical. Preview performances on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th May will be replaced by an additional preview on Wednesday 22nd May at 7.30pm and another extra performance to be scheduled during a forthcoming holiday period. Patrons who had booked for the previews are being contacted and their visit to Theatre Royal Drury Lane rearranged.

Unforeseen problems in the delivery of a piece of stage engineering by a contractor have caused delays to the schedule.

Ryan Petersen, spokesman for the production, said “The whole production team is frustrated by this unforeseen delay in what has otherwise been a very smooth and exciting rehearsal period.  We’re sorry to inconvenience people who have booked for these first previews but are putting on an extra performance next Wednesday evening which will become our first public preview.”

Patrons who have booked for the two performances will be contacted by the ticket agency through which they bought their ticket and an alternative date arranged.
