The hit children’s book ‘We’re Going on a Bear
Hunt’ written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury has been
brought to life on stage this summer by KW & NB ltd.

We’re going to see a Bear Hunt
What a beautiful play
We’re not scared.”
Sally Cookson’s hugely inventive production set
to Benji Bower’s quirky musical score is a mischievous celebration of play,
utilising everyday objects and materials, to capture the imagination and
catapult young audience into the world of this much loved picture book.

For fifty minutes, the audience of children and
their families are taken on a journey through the various parts of the story
with rhymes, music and laughter, combined with inventive uses of puppetry, ‘
squelchy mud’ and water. The children really are at the centre of all parts of
this production and the attention to detail in bringing this story to life is
something that makes it a pure delight to watch.
Our three-year-old chaperone thoroughly enjoyed
her self and was dancing and singing along to this very interactive show. A few
surprises along the way were a lovely touch and were a talking point all the
way home.
We’re Going on a Bear Hunt is not only a
production that ends once you leave the theatre, but a legacy that will enrich
the imagination and play of little ones for weeks to come.
