GABRIELLE

20 YEARS OF DREAMING TOUR ANNOUNCED
Tickets On Sale Friday 6th December @ 10am

‘NOW AND ALWAYS – 2O YEARS OF DREAMING’
Available Now through ISLAND RECORDS

Gabrielle, one of the UK’s most loved singer-songwriters, has today announced a full UK headline tour for 2014. This tour follows on from the release of her new album ‘Now and Always – 20 Years Of Dreaming’ out now through Island Records.

‘Now and Always – 20 Years Of Dreaming’ marks 20 years since Gabrielle debuted at #1 with ‘Dreams.’ The new album includes a collection of Gabrielle’s biggest selling songs as well as seven brand new songs which Gabrielle has recently worked on with world renowned producers, such as Syience [Beyonce] Paddy Byrne [Paloma Faith] and Naughty Boy [Emeli Sande].

With the new songs come a new sound – or rather, several new sounds. Perhaps the most surprising new track is first single Say Goodbye, a brilliant, broody break-up song with a nagging refrain that takes her distinctive voice in to completely new territory. Knew Me is a ballsy, ‘60s-influenced soul stomper that announces Gabrielle’s return with a triumphant vocal in which you can hear how happy she is to be back. Also on ‘Now and Always – 20 Years Of Dreaming’ is the funky Holding On For You and the title track, a bittersweet, haunting love song set to strings and piano. And then there’s the made-for-the-dancefloor Show Me What You Got The seventh new number is a classic, revisited – Naughty Boy’s sumptuous, cinematic reworking of Dreams, recorded from scratch, with new vocals.
“I didn’t think we should mess with Dreams,” admits Gabrielle, “but Naughty Boy did an amazing job. It sounds nothing like the old version. When I heard the rework, I was astonished – it was as if I just realised what a beautiful song Dreams is.”

As well as including all of Gabrielle’s massive hits from the #1 single Rise to Give Me A Little More Time, Out Of Reach, Sunshine and If You Ever the 2 CD album also includes a few of the incredible remixes of Gabrielle’s hits. The Daft Punk remix of Forget About The World, the Wookie mix of Sunshine and the Artufl Dodger remix of Rise.

As well as selling 10 million records Gabrielle has received a number of awards during her glittering 20 year career. She has won two Brit Awards for Best Newcomer in 94 and Best Female in 97. She was also awarded an Ivor Novello in 2008 for Outstanding Song Collection. Gabrielle has also picked up two MOBO awards over the years, including one at the very first awards in 1996.
