Siobhan Dillon, Natalie Mendoza and Chris Peluso to join cast of MISS SAIGON in London's West End

Cameron Mackintosh is delighted to announce key cast changes for Boublil and Schönberg’s legendary musical “MISS SAIGON” as the show enters its second triumphant year at the Prince Edward Theatre.

From Monday 11 May 2015 Chris Peluso, direct from the Tony award-winning musical “Beautiful”, will star as ‘Chris’; Siobhan Dillon as ‘Ellen’; Natalie Mendoza as ‘Gigi’ and Sangwoong Jo as ‘Thuy’. Continuing in their roles are the Whatsonstage Award winning Jon Jon Briones as ‘The Engineer’ and Eva Noblezada as ‘Kim’ and Hugh Maynard as ‘John’.  At certain performances Tanya Manalang continues to play the role of ‘Kim’ and Christian Rey Marbella will be playing the role of ‘The Engineer’.

Chris Peluso is making his West End debut as ‘Chris’ having most recently appeared in “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” on Broadway.  His other theatre credits on Broadway and on tour in the US include: “Assassins”,” Lestat”, “Mamma Mia!” and “Wicked”.

Siobhan Dillon rose to fame in the BBC series “How Do You Solve a Problem like Maria?” in 2006.  Most recently she appeared as ‘Sally Bowles’ in Rufus Norris’s production of “Cabaret”. Her other theatre credits include: ‘Molly’ in “Ghost The Musical”; ‘Vivienne Kensington’ in “Legally Blonde The Musical” and ‘Sandy’ in “Grease”.

Natalie Mendoza has most recently appeared as ‘Imelda Marcos’ in the critically acclaimed “Here Lies Love” at the National Theatre. She also appeared as ‘Arachne’ in “Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark” on Broadway. Her other theatre credits in her native Australia include “Les Misérables” and “Sweet Charity”. She is well known for her roles as ‘Jackie Clunes’ in BBC One’s “Hotel Babylon” and ‘Juno’ in the films “The Descent” and “The Descent 2”.

Sangwoong Jo is making his West End debut as ‘Thuy’. His theatre credits in his native Korea include: ‘Ichki’ in “Love Letter”; ‘Fiyero’ in “Wicked”; ‘Marius’ in “Les Misérables” and ‘Simba’ in “The Lion King”.

“MISS SAIGON” tells the tragic tale of young bar girl Kim, orphaned by war, who falls in love with an American GI called Chris - but their lives are torn apart by the fall of Saigon.

“MISS SAIGON” is now booking into its 2nd sensational year at the Prince Edward Theatre with tickets available until 19 December 2015.

On Sunday 12 April, Eva Noblezada and the company of “MISS SAIGON” performed “I’d Give My Life For You” at the 2015 Olivier Awards at the Royal Opera House; which was broadcast later the same evening on ITV1.

In February “MISS SAIGON” swept the board at the 2015 Whatsonstage.com awards winning a record breaking nine awards, the most awards ever won by a single show in the 15 year history of the awards including: Best West End Show; Best Revival of a Musical; Best Leading Actress in a Musical and Best Leading Actor in a Musical.

On 8 December, the cast of “MISS SAIGON” performed at the 2014 Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium. Broadcast on ITV, audience figures peaked at eight million during the Miss Saigon performance and Dame Shirley Bassey’s performance.

In November 2014 “MISS SAIGON” won 11 awards in the Broadwayworld.com Awards including Best Leading Actor; Best Featured Actor; Best Leading Actress; Best Featured Actress; Best Choreography; Best Costume Design and Best Direction in a New Production of a Musical.

This new production of “MISS SAIGON” opened in May 2014 and has been a triumphant success with record-breaking advance bookings.After opening in London, the new production most recently opened in Japan and Korea with other productions planned in Australia, Europe and the U.S.

MISS SAIGON has Music by Claude-Michel Schönberg with Lyrics by Richard Maltby Jnr and Alain Boublil, adapted from Original French Lyrics by Alain Boublil with Additional Lyrics by Michael Mahler. This new production will be directed by Laurence Connor with Musical Staging by Bob Avian and Additional Choreography by Geoffrey Garratt, Production Design by Totie Driver and Matt Kinley based on an Original Concept by Adrian Vaux, Costume Design by Andreane Neofitou, Lighting Design by Bruno Poet, Sound Design by Mick Potter and Orchestrations by William David Brohn. Musical Supervision is by Stephen Brooker and John Rigby. Musical Direction is by Alfonso Casado Trigo.


Performances are Monday to Saturday at 7.30pm and Thursday & Saturday at 2.30pm. Tickets are priced £27.50 - £69.50.
