Review: Tina C 'Where the Hell Were You?' - London Wonderground ✭✭✭✭

Tina C
London Wonderground

Review by Unsa Chaudri

My reviews of the Udderbelly rounded off with a performance by drag artist Tina C at London Wonderground, an American singer songwriter with a political edge.

Dressed in a pink and orange dress, with a bright pink cowgirl hat, Tina C greeted us telling us we were ‘so valid’, a phrase she often repeated.

She told us a bit about herself and where she had been, apparently she had even participated in a political campaign.

Tina C sang some well-known songs including Dolly Parton’s ‘9 to 5’, Elvis’ ‘Always on my Mind’, David Bowie’s ‘Life on Mars’ and Abba’s ‘Dancing Queen’. A great mix of popular songs, perfect for the audience to sing along to, something Tina C was quick to encourage.

She also entertained us with her wit and ability to improvise. A great comedienne, the audience were in stiches.

Tina C is not for the faint hearted and there is tongue in cheek humour throughout but she is for those who love to be entertained and I thought she was fantastic.
