FLORRIE UK Live Shows May 2011

FLORRIE

UK LIVE SHOWS

‘World Beating Pop’ NME 9th February 2011

The multi-talented FLORRIE released her brand new song ‘Begging Me’ on 28th April 20, through iTunes. ‘Begging Me’ is the lead track from Florrie’s brand new EP which will be released on May 26th 2011.

‘Begging Me’ is the perfect pop tune for now, as fresh as a perfect Spring day, knee-deep in trademark Florrie breathy vocals and lyrical sassiness. The song also comes with Florrie’s first ever video, directed by Price James (Beth Ditto, Friendly Fires) which sees the British 22 year old sporting some seriously cool fashion and her band rocking it to full effect.

Recorded between East London, Kent and Los Angeles the forthcoming EP is Florrie’s second EP release and contains three further brand new self penned tracks. All new tracks will be available via iTunes
. A completely new type of independent artist, Florrie continues to release via her own label, despite offers from major labels, so that she can maintain complete creative control over her music and build her fanbase herself.

Since her debut release last year the hotly tipped Florrie has already built a strong word of mouth following through giving away her music free via her website. Florrie has also built a loyal live following and, after supporting Two Door Cinema Club on their UK and European tour recently, her own tour has taken Florrie across the world from Manchester to Moscow and London to Paris.

A thoroughly modern popstar, Florrie has been setting her own agenda with her own unique blend of cool pop. A drummer, singer, songwriter, programmer and guitarist, Florrie is the former Xenomania house-band drummer and, having fought her way out from behind the band, is taking centre stage with her own music.

Florrie’s music is getting critical props too - her debut song ‘Call 911’ was described as ‘sensationally good’ by the Sunday Times and follow up EP track ‘Give Me Your Love’ as a ‘Classy club monster’ by NME. Florrie is also quickly becoming a hit with the fashionistas with the likes of Vogue and Style.com taking her to their hearts after her roof-raising performance at a recent Ponystep party in East London.

From picking up her first pair of drumsticks at the age of seven, and first guitar at twelve, Florrie has already chalked up over 100 live shows as a drummer, as well as playing on some of the best pop records of recent years for the likes of Girls Aloud and Pet Shop Boys.

Florrie plays the following live shows in May:

May 12th Brighton Great Escape
May 13th Birmingham o2 Academy 3
May 14th London Borderline
