LOSTPROPHETS Announce August UK Dates

Lostprophets released their first album, 'thefakesoundofprogress', just over ten years ago. Ten. Years. They've been years of shifts in both style and attitude as the band made the ascent through the British rock spectrum. Their forthcoming fifth record promises to encompass all the sound and experience that Lostprophets have developed along the way. It's simultaneously a return to form, reminiscent of the chaos of their early work, and an expression of newfound maturity and growth.

How better to celebrate the evolution of Lostprophets than with a quick return to roots? This summer, the band is ticking all boxes. For a chance to warm up after nearly a year away from the stage and a chance to remind fans of the excitement and intensity that has sustained Lostprophets' career for over a decade, the band is playing three special gigs in addition to their previously announced festival appearances. Oxford, Cardiff and Norwich, prepare yourselves now.

"When we last played the Norwich Waterfront, it was one of the first times we sold out our own club gig. It was such a huge occasion for us," guitarist Mike Lewis recalls. "I remember coming off stage, heading to the dressing room, and absolutely smashing it up in celebration. I mean, we trashed the place. Our rider was everywhere, all over the floor. Our tour manager was terrified of how the promoter would react, but then the promoter came backstage to join us, took one look at the carnage, and was just like, 'Well done, boys. Congratulations.' I've never forgotten that moment."

It's memories like those that have held these friends together and compelled them to create music and experiences for everyone around them to enjoy.

So here we go. The summer of 2011 sees not only a return to the festival sector in which Lostprophets are fully comfortable now - with appearances at V Festival (UK) and Sziget in Hungary - but also a return to intimate venues that will allow them to reconnect with the fans that have gotten them to where they are.

These gigs are both a stamp on the first ten years of Lostprophets and a kickstart for all that's to come.
