BEOWULF
Charles Court Opera's fifth annual legendary boutique panto
Beowulf, Charles Court Opera's fifth annual legendary boutique panto at the Rosemary Branch Theatre, promises to scale new heights of sublime silliness as the most scholarly epic of Anglo-Saxon literature is given a wickedly entertaining Christmas makeover by a cast of nine classically trained singers, including the Eaton-Young Piano Duo in cameos.
Join Beowulf, along with Grendel, Grendel's mother, his sidekick Wiglaff, King Hrothgar and a bladderful of other characters in a maelstrom of bad jokes, great music, excruciating audience participation and downright dangerous dough dodging.
And there are seven Adults Only extra saucy performances!
Beowulf, runs from Friday 9 December to Sunday 8 January.
Press night is Saturday 10 December at 7.30pm
Charles Court Opera was formed in 2005 by John Savournin as a platform for young talent in opera, operetta and music theatre. Nearly six years after their first production, CCO has produced over 20 operas, musicals and pantomimes, and numerous concert performances around the country and overseas, in venues ranging from an Islington pub theatre to the National Concert Hall in Dublin. They are now respected as one of the UK’s most exciting and diverse young opera and theatre companies.
