BRETT GOLDSTEIN "Grew Up In A Strip Club" heads out on UK Tour

Something for The Weekend Presents…
Brett Goldstein Grew Up In A Strip Club
National Tour 2012

'Sharply written, impeccably delivered, always charming... warm, wise stuff.’
Daily Telegraph****

Brett Goldstein embarks on his debut national tour with his critically acclaimed show ‘Brett Goldstein Grew Up in A Strip Club’, where he tells the true story of his adventures whilst running a Marbella strip club with his dad.

In 2001, Brett's father left his wife, sold his bookshop and bought a strip club in Marbella. It was the world's greatest mid life crisis... and Brett was taken along for the ride. Starring a cast of vaguely psychotic characters, come hear an hilarious tale of mafia, drugs and stripping, guaranteed to make middle aged men feel better about only buying a Ferrari.
MARVEL at the backstage secrets. LAUGH at the hilarious antics of the mafia. CRY at the utter destruction of a young man's innocence. And CLAP POLITELY at the end as you realise you've just sat through someone else's therapy.

Brett has appeared in over twenty theatre productions, including the leads in David Mamet’s Edmond and Speed The Plow.  He played the lead in the Edinburgh premiere of Ben Elton’s Popcorn and had his first feature role in the self-written thriller Wish You Were Here. He also plays Albert, one of the leads in Noel Clarke’s new film, The Knot.

Brett Goldstein has been performing stand-up for the past four and half years.  In that time he has clocked up more than 800 gigs.  He was picked for the Comedy Reserve at the Pleasance in his first year.  Two years after that, he was chosen for the Big Value Show at Just The Tonic.  He is a regular at Storm 99 club, Covent Garden Comedy Club, has played The Stand, Banana Cabaret, Outside The Box, The Stand Glasgow and Highlight amongst other places.  He has since gone on to support Patrick Monahan at the Royal Albert Hall.

As a writer, Brett has written four features which are currently in various stages of production, including Wish You Were Here.  He also wrote the novel, Intimate Diaries of a girl in the Country, and stories for Secrets and Confessions for Agent Provocateur.
