“London's trail-blazing, hell-raising cabaret troupe (Time Out)” Boom Boom Club return with their most ambitious show to date. Cabaret's most creative company bring their underground anarchic mischief and trademark immersive cabaret style to the Priceless London Wonderground for a theatrical journey into the murky fathoms.

Drawing from the worlds of cabaret, circus, comedy, music and dance: expect spectacular feats of derring do, heart-breaking song, and surreal humour in the tale of Prospero's Tavern (loosely inspired by Shakespeare's Tempest) backed by an exclusive live soundtrack provided by Boom Boom's own rock’n’roll house band Uberkaboom!

Welcome to the boozer at the end of the world and Davy Jones' Lock-in, the party which never, ever ends.

At Prospero's Tavern a kaleidoscopic band of lost souls gather from far and wide to tell tall tales of times gone by. As ship-wrecked guests assemble outside the venue they are greeted by a various and assorted band of salacious sea wenches and gypsy musicians, who warn of a great storm coming. Once inside, they may notice a widow sobbing into her glass of gin, a half-crazed nautical adventurer, and a pair of drowned Titanic ballroom diners hovering at the bar. The stage is strewn with flotsam and jetsam, shiny artifacts which have been washed up to this mystical place – much like the characters who each get up one by one to perform comic sea shanties, jaw-dropping acrobatic feats or fire-breathing dance. All of which is introduced by Prospero the gabbling landlord-visionary, ably aided and abetted by his fleet-footed slave Arial. Mysterious rhythms and recognisable melodies entwine as strange new forms echo all around.

Boom Boom Club’s summer season represents a natural expansion of the concept-led immersive events which has seen the company emerge as leaders of the pack from London’s alternative nightlife scene in recent years. Let the revels begin.
