'Beacon'
3rd September - Kitsuné
Today, Two Door Cinema Club announce the release of their highly-anticipated sophomore album, entitled 'Beacon' - out 3rd September 2012 on Kitsuné.
Following their headline slot on February’s NME Awards Tour, the band, Alex Trimble, Kevin Baird and Sam Halliday, travelled to LA in April to record the album with acclaimed producer Jacknife Lee (Bloc Party, U2, REM) in his home studios. The result is a bold statement of intent - an ambitious and heartfelt selection of tracks showcasing a stunning depth of songwriting and a broader, maturer sound.
"Beacon is a much more intimate record than our first, but at the same time, it's much bigger and more inclusive. Trying to find that balance has been our goal for a long time and this record takes us one step closer to the band we've dreamt of becoming"
"Working with Jacknife Lee was a joy and a pleasure. He shared our goals and played a huge part in putting the pieces together in the right way. This is an exciting time for us and we can't wait to share the songs with everyone", said Alex Trimble.

With their debut album 'Tourist History' achieving platinum status in the UK and their native Ireland, and selling over 1 million copies worldwide, Two Door Cinema Club are one of the biggest breakthrough bands of the last two years. Their incendiary live shows have become internationally renowned, resulting in the band selling out big venue tours all over the world including the UK, Europe, US, Asia, South America, Japan and South Africa.
Last year, after picking up the coveted Choice Music Award and an MTV Newcomer Award, the band sold out Brixton Academy in under two hours - one of the fastest selling shows at the iconic venue in recent history - before going on to become one of the most talked about bands of the summer festival season after pulling in some of the biggest crowds at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, Isle of Wight and Rockness. As a result, NME have named them as the No.1 most exciting band to catch at this summer’s festivals.
This year, 'Beacon' looks set to make it’s mark - shining brightly and guiding the highly-exciting Irish trio into the next chapter of their rapidly evolving musical journey.
