Dave's Comedy in The Dark Autumn 2012 Tour to feature Abandoman, Vikki Stone, Paul Foot and more!

Dave presents:
 ‘Comedy in the Dark’
LIGHTING THE WAY FOR LAUGHTER THIS AUTUMN

“Destined to become one of the most talked about shows.”
Time Out

As the gloomy summer draws to a close, and we say hello to an autumn of ever-shortening days, Dave, the home of witty banter, presents ‘Comedy in the Dark Tour’ promising to light up our lives with a sensory overload that is too funny to resist: top comedians performing in the pitch dark.

“Comedy in the Dark is a unique and compellingly intimate experience."
Dan Antopolski, Perrier nominee and Dave Joke of the Fringe winner.

Described by BBC Leicester as “a fascinating cult experiment”, the show has been a huge hit for the past three years at Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival (“One of the top 5 comedy festivals in the world” The Guardian), and won further critical acclaim with its subsequent Edinburgh Fringe runs and appearances in London.

Audiences for this autumn tour of the superbly innovative  ‘Comedy in the Dark’ can expect to have their senses heightened, while comedians perform out of their skin and utilise entirely new skills to cope with what is literally a blank canvas. This is the one time where a theatre ‘going dark’ is actually a good thing for performer and audience alike!

“It’s the most fun you can have with the lights off - almost!”
Audience member in Edinburgh

Past acts have included Sarah Millican, Kevin Bridges, Jon Richardson, Greg Davies and Shappi Khorsandi, and the line up for Comedy in the Dark’s 2012 Autumn tour includes another raft of leading stand-ups including the award-winning Phil Nichol, Patrick Monahan, winner of  ITV’s ‘Show Me The Funny’, Paul Foot, fast-rising star Josh Widdicombe and blind stand-up Chris McCausland.

“Who'd have thought that sensory deprivation plus comedy could equal so much fun? A really unique and interesting experience, for audience and performers.”

With each outing ‘Comedy in the Dark’ sheds new light on the resourcefulness of comedians and pushes the boundaries of humour. Now cities as far apart as Brighton and Leeds, Birmingham and Glasgow, can enjoy this nocturnal novelty as the lights go out all over the UK in the name of comedy.
