A Stage Kindly present OLD GOAT SONG at The Lion and Unicorn Theatre this month

Old Goat Song

Old Goat Song centres around a 71-year-old retired widower. Before retirement he accrued a good deal of money which his sister—his only living relative—fully expects to inherit.

Bill becomes friends with a 17-year-old waitress at a local diner who reminds him of his late wife. In gratitude for his large tips she begins going to Bill’s home to read for him. Bill's sister resents the young girl’s intrusion and fears the girl is after Bill’s money. When Bill gives the young girl an expensive gift for her 18th birthday, his sister accuses him of falling in love with her. Bill wonders if there isn’t some truth to her accusation...

Old Goat Song will star Michael Morgan, Andrea Miller, Leigh Lothian and Pippa Winslow and will be Directed by Matthew Gould, with Musical Direction by Katy Lipson whose recent achievements include producing the recent West End Run of The Mystery of Edwin Drood, also Directed by Gould. The show is General Managed by The A STAGE KINDLY New Musical Theatre Initiative, a London based organisation dedicated to nurturing new musical theatre writing, whose credits include such diverse shows as Soviet Zion, Roll On The Day, Bitesize, Slay It With Music and the acclaimed Ballets Russes (also written by Reiser).

The show will be Designed by James Hirst with Lighting by Ben M. Rogers.

David Reiser, a prolific American writer notable for having written 50+ works of Musical Theatre, is flying to the UK this October to enjoy the first ever UK production Old Goat Song at the Lion and Unicorn Theatre, the musical he wrote with multi award-winning writer Jules Tasca.
