Further tour dates announced for Agatha Christie's THE MOUSETRAP 60th Anniversary Tour
THE MOUSETRAP
Due to extraordinary demand, extra performances have been added in Bath, Birmingham, Newcastle and Nottingham, in addition to the extra performances that have already played in Canterbury, Cardiff, Manchester, Southampton and Malvern.
The cast for the second leg of the tour includes: Steven France (Eastenders, The Bill) as Christopher Wren, Karl Howman (Brush Strokes) as Mr Paravicini, Bruno Langley (Coronation Street, Doctor Who) as Giles Ralston, Graham Seed (Yes, Prime Minister UK Tour, BBC Radio 4’s The Archers) as Major Metcalf and Jemma Walker (Family Affairs, Eastenders) as Mollie Ralston. Elizabeth Power (EastEnders) as Mrs Boyle and Clare Wilkie (Eastenders) will play Miss Casewell. Bob Saul will reprise his West End role as Sgt Trotter.
This classic murder mystery play is now in its 60th year in London’s West End. On 18 November 2012 to celebrate this milestone, a star-studded gala performance took place at St. Martin’s Theatre. Directed by Phyllida Lloyd, the cast for this staged reading was Hugh Bonneville (Giles Ralston), Nicholas Farrell (Major Metcalf), Iain Glen (Sgt Trotter) Tamsin Greig (Mollie Ralston), Miranda Hart (Miss Casewell), Harry Lloyd (Christopher Wren), Patrick Stewart (Mr Paravicini) and Julie Walters (Mrs Boyle).
Agatha Christie’s grandson, Mathew Prichard welcomed the audience for this diamond jubilee celebratory evening, which was also the 25,000th performance. All of the proceeds from the night were donated to Mousetrap Theatre Projects, the leading theatre education charity seed-funded by the play.
Mousetrap Productions has licensed 60 productions of The Mousetrap world-wide to mark the 60th year. During this period the world’s longest running show will be seen in every continent, with professional productions scheduled for Australia, China, Korea, Turkey, South Africa, Russia, Czech Republic, Hungary, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Poland, Spain, Scandinavia, Venezuela, and across the United States and Canada.
The Mousetrap continues at St. Martin’s Theatre, London.
