Seussical
Arts Theatre, London
Sell A Door Theatre have brought to life a wonderful production here based on the works of Dr. Seuss 'The Cat in the Hat'.
The music, singing, acting and staging had me enthralled from the word go, with Joe Morrow a rather splendid all singing all dancing Cat in the Hat. With Seussical, some of the best stories and characters from the Seuss Menagerie are brought to life, including a wonderful David Hunter as Horton the Elephant who hears a who?
All the cast do a stunning job of telling the tales on stage with great energy, top notch vocals, harmonies, and an array of costumes from feathered birds to, well, non feathered birds such as Gertrude McFuzz played brilliantly by Kirsty Marie Ayers.
With a musical score of all genres kicking in, it gives this ensemble a chance to shine. And shine they do indeed. The audience were well and truly captured throughout this 80 minute piece, with everyone smiling at the end singing the songs - I know I did.
Seussical - a musical for all ages which is a definite must-see.
