Graham Linehan's hilarious adaptation of the classic Ealing comedy The Ladykillers returns to London at The Vaudeville Theatre this summer following its record breaking debut West End season at the Gielgud Theatre in 2011/12 and subsequent UK tour. The Ladykillers will preview from 29 June 2013 and Press Night will be 9 July 2013. Casting is to be announced.

Written by Graham Linehan (Father Ted, The I.T. Crowd, Black Books) and directed by Sean Foley (The Play What I Wrote), The Ladykillers broke all box office records at the Gielgud Theatre during its debut season. The Ladykillers recently received the 2013 WhatsOnStage.com Award for Best New Comedy and was nominated for five Laurence Olivier Awards in 2012 including Best New Play, Best Direction, Best Set Design, Best Actress in a Play and Best Sound Design.

The Ladykillers tells the classic black comedy tale of a sweet little old lady, alone in her house, pitted against a gang of criminal misfits who will stop at nothing....Posing as amateur musicians, Professor Marcus and his gang rent rooms in the lopsided house of sweet and eccentric Mrs Wilberforce. The villains plot to involve her unwittingly in Marcus’ brilliantly conceived heist job. The police are left stumped but Mrs Wilberforce becomes wise to their ruse and Marcus concludes that there is only one way to keep the old lady quiet. With only her parrot, General Gordon, to help her, Mrs W. is alone with five desperate men. But who will be forced to face the music?

Based on the Ealing Comedy screenplay, this stage production has been adapted by Graham Linehan, best known for being the writer behind TV comedies Father Ted, The I.T. Crowd and Black Books, his new comedy show for BBC 2 Count Arthur Strong premieres this spring. Director Sean Foley is a multi award-winning stage director whose work in the West End includes The Play What I Wrote, Do You Come Here Often, Ducktastic, Pinter’s People and Joe Orton’s What The Butler Saw. He is to make his RSC debut this summer with Thomas Middleton’s A Mad World My Masters.
