WE’RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT arrives in the West End - daytime performances at Lyric Theatre from 3 July

BASED ON THE BOOK WRITTEN BY MICHAEL ROSEN & ILLUSTRATED BY HELEN OXENBURY

LYRIC THEATRE, Shaftesbury Avenue from 3 July 2013
LIVE ON STAGE

WE’RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT, the perfect theatrical outing for any young family, arrives in the West End for a limited summer season at the LYRIC THEATRE, SHAFTESBURY AVENUE from WEDNESDAY 3 JULY to SUNDAY 1 SEPTEMBER 2013, direct from a smash-hit international tour.

WE’RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT plays in the daytime under THRILLER LIVE, now in its 5th year in the West End & booking to 15 Sep, 2013 - new booking period to be announced

Music, laughter, songs, rhythms, rhymes and repetitions; with puppetry, paints, water and mud, not to mention a bear - we’re not scared!

SALLY COOKSON’s hugely inventive production set to BENJI BOWER’s quirky musical score is a mischievous celebration of play, utilising everyday objects and materials, to capture the imagination and catapult young audiences into the world of  MICHAEL ROSEN and illustrator HELEN OXENBURY‘s much loved picture book.

Join our intrepid family of adventurers and their musical dog through the swishy swashy grass, the splishy splashy river and the squelchy mud, in search of a bear. Expect plenty of fun-filled interaction and a few surprises along the way.

MICHAEL ROSEN says of the live theatre show: ''This production of WE'RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT takes everyone on the journey - not under, not over, oh no - through it! - in a funny, exuberant and loving way. It's a show full of laughter, music, silliness and thrills that I promise you will excite and delight all young children. This is a must-go show."

WE’RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT is presented by KW & NB Ltd and created by the critically acclaimed production team including: theatre director SALLY COOKSON, designer KATIE SYKES, music and lyrics BENJI BOWER, lighting design TONY SIMPSON, sound JASON BARNES and puppet designer MARC PARRETT. The cast are: Dad - DUNCAN FOSTER (who created the character of Dad and has been playing it since the show began, and is aiming to surpass Yul Brynner’s 4,600 performances of The King and I!); Daughter - ROWENA LENNON (Phyllis in The Railway Children); Son - GARETH WARREN (Danny in the Birmingham Stage Company's Danny the Champion of the World); Dog/Musician - BEN HARRISON (Mowgli in Illyria Theatre Company’s The Mowgli Stories) and introducing GAVIN SWIFT.
