Forget Festivals, Have a Picnic!

Music, Mega-firework displays and bring-your-own champers and smoked salmon are the way to go this summer as IML Concerts unveils its eleventh season of Summer Picnic Concerts running through July and August 2011.

Set in the grounds of the most beautiful country houses in England including Eastnor Castle (Herefordshire), Ripley Castle (Harrogate), Borde Hill Gardens (Haywards Heath), Shugborough Estate (Staffs) and many others, these concerts are the most affordable on the market, offering the most relaxed approach to eating, drinking and having fun.

Tickets for all the concerts are £35 each with 10% discounts for group bookings of more than ten. With free parking on site the Summer Picnic Concerts are a recession busting solution for music fans, friends and fun seekers, costing less than half the price of a ticket to see James Blunt at the Hampton Court Palace Festival (£75). And that’s before you’ve shelled out a further £70 for the Jamie Oliver picnic. It’s either that or go hungry …

Each concert has a relaxed format: a nice early evening start, as doors open at 5pm, allowing the anticipated 5-8000 crowd for each concert to stroll around the grounds and find a suitable patch. Picnics are actively encouraged and large groups of friends and families characterise these events – it’s a great opportunity to socialise in the most beautiful surroundings – no ‘standing room only’ at these gigs…

The music begins at 6.30pm with the main act at 8.30pm. At around 10.30pm the shows are rounded off with a grand firework display. Ten thousand quid’s worth at each show in fact. ‘Ooh’s’ and ‘Aahhh’s’ guaranteed.
