DIO DISCIPLES to play this years Download Festival

Ronnie James Dio will always be remembered for his incredible voice, his brilliant song writing and as a generous, tender human being. While he was still alive he had many, many followers but now after he has passed, he has disciples.

The ‘Dio Disciples’ united to keep his music alive and continue his great legacy. With a European tour, including a performance at this year’s Download, fans are already excited to see the ‘Dio Disciples’ and enjoy a celebration of Ronnie James Dio’s music.

The Dio Disciples are:

Simon Wright: not only ex-AC/DC drummer and Dio’s drummer for the past 14 years but one of his closest friends. He started with Dio 1990 on ‘Lock Up The Wolves’ album. Simon is taking the drums again with his powerhouse style and solid rhythm

Craig Goldy: guitar player Craig made his Dio debut on the 1985 ‘Sacred Heart’ album and is well known for his incredible talent and is an outstanding guitar player

Scott Warren: a great self taught keysman, on keyboards for Dio for the last 16 years and he also was the keyboarder for Heaven & Hell

Rudy Sarzo: the Cuban bass player in Dio since 2004 – who won’t be performing on this tour due to
long commitments and will be replaced on this tour by
James LoMenzo: the multi talented bass player who was a former member of Megadeath, Black Label Society, David Lee Roth - just to name a few

Guest singers on the tour:

Tim’Ripper’ Owens : well known from Judas Priest and Iced Earth and his own band Beyond Fear. He always admired Ronnie and his music and was proud to join in

Toby Jepson: singer/ songwriter from Manchester who was the singer of Little Angels and is very pleased to take the stage and performing some of Ronnie’s songs

Doro: The leading lady of metal didn’t have to be convinced to join in singing Dio’s anthems. Always a big admirer of Ronnie and it’s just great to have a female voice performing his music.
