Last Chance to Catch Kerry Ellis and Brian May's ANTHEMS tour

Kerry Ellis and Brian May are in the final stretch of their Anthems tour with only 3 dates remaining on the current schedule. Backstage Pass caught the show as it stormed through Glasgow on 12th May. The support act Vintage Trouble had their work cut out for them with a couple of over-excited Queen fans in the front row who sadly didn’t last past Vintage Trouble courtesy of the stewards. Vintage Trouble won over the Glasgow crowd with their upbeat and soulful tunes warming up the crowd ready for Ellis and May.

To the uninitiated the link between May and Ellis isn’t necessarily immediately obvious but they make a formidable onstage partnership. The Anthems set list, predictably, is a neat blend of classic Queen songs, the Anthems album, several costumes and a lot of dry ice. Ellis makes the stage her own and the impromptu standing ovations given night after night are a testament to the fact that she is slowly but surely winning over the Queen fans.

Anthems is never going to be everyone’s cup of tea but Ellis’s powerful voice and May’s guitar hero status make this a night to remember so make sure you catch it while you can!
