Undoubtedly the most successful TV magician of the 20th century, Paul Daniels and the very lovely Debbie McGee will be enchanting the Edinburgh audiences with their first Fringe show since 2003, a show full of the hil-hairious art of comedy magic……and he promises not to dance. You'll like this...not a lot, but you'll like it.

Whilst on holiday at the age of 11, Paul read the book ‘How to Entertain at Parties’ and since then he has been entertaining the masses, from tricks for his fellow servicemen during his national service to audiences in their millions on prime time TV. Opportunity literally Knocked in 1970 when Paul was spotted by a TV producer and he was soon hosting his own show The Paul Daniels Show (BBC1) with his future wife Debbie McGee for 15 years.

Paul became a magical star and hosted a number of other television series from Odd One Out, Every Second Counts, Wipeout, and the ever popular and fondly remembered Wizbit, all for the BBC. In recent years, Paul appeared on Da Ali G Show (Channel 4), Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (ITV) and Strictly Come Dancing (BBC) and alongside Debbie on cult TV show When Louis Met…presented by Louis Theroux (BBC2), Wife Swap (Channel 4), The Farm (Channel 5), and The X Factor: Battle of the Stars (ITV).

With a reputation as one of the most popular men in show-business, Paul has entertained the likes of Prince William, Prince Harry, The Sultan of Brunei, The Sultan of Oman, Prince Rainier of Monaco, Barry White, John Major and countless others. His Radio 2 show Dealing with Daniels ran for 6 months and Paul performed at the Prince of Wales Theatre in the heart of the West End in his own show It’s Magic, one of the longest-running magic shows ever staged in London. He has also designed special effects for stage and screen including Cats, Phantom of the Opera, the Nutcracker and Hollywood movie Return to Oz. He has also developed a career in motivational speaking which aids business men and women in their speeches and presentations.

DEBBIE McGEE
Debbie’s career has spanned the widest range of show business genres, incorporating classical ballet, modern dance, cabaret, theatre, television and films. After finishing her training at the Royal Ballet School, Debbie joined the Iranian National Ballet until political reasons forced her to return to the UK. There she went into the more commercial side of dance and appeared on many TV light entertainment shows.

Passing one audition changed her life when she landed a role as dancer in the Paul Daniels Summer Show in Great Yarmouth and the rest, as they say, is history. Since then, Debbie fulfilled a lifelong dream as Artistic Director and choreographer of the highly successful classical ballet company, Ballet Imaginaire. As well as presenting the well-known classics Swan Lake and Coppelia, Debbie has created two completely new classical ballets, The Artist’s Dream and Phantom, and since June 2008 Debbie added the role of Radio DJ to her credits, as she now presents her own Sunday morning radio show on BBC Radio Berkshire.
