Introducing...THE TRICKS - Debut Single - Just For The Summer / Remember Me
THE TRICKS
RELEASE DEBUT DOUBLE A SIDE SINGLE
JUST FOR THE SUMMER / REMEMBER ME
ON 6TH FEBRUARY
London based indie pop band The Tricks will release their debut single, a Double A-Side release of ‘Just For The Summer’ and ‘Remember Me’, on 6th February through Unison Music Group.
The Tricks are Brothers Joel Hodge (lead vocal/bass) and Ash Hodge (drums), John Bisset and Eliot Crabtree (both guitars). The four friends grew up together in Hertford and after stints in other bands formed The Tricks just over a year ago. After establishing themselves gigging around London, The Tricks caught the attention of US label Unison Music Group and were flown to LA to record demos and then later their debut album with Grammy nominated producer Bruce Witkin.
‘Just For The Summer’ is a fast, poppy explosion of guitars and drums, with a catchy feel-good chorus and a pumping, melodic riff throughout. In contrast ‘Remember Me’ is a down-tempo, smooth guitar-led indie anthem and is reminiscent of early Strokes in its jangly guitars and The Clash in the strong vocal harmonies. Both are perfect songs to kick the winter blues away into spring.
The Tricks will be selling 300 copies of the limited edition 7” of the Double A-side single at their London headline show at Concrete on 30th November before the official release on February 6th. They will also be performing at 93ft East on 10th December before heading out on a UK tour in January.
Their debut album will be released in Summer 2012 and is an indie pop Californian sun-drenched album packed full of energetic, punchy pop rock with memorable vocals and melodies. Watch out for The Tricks – they’re set to become your soundtrack to next summer.
