SPANDAU BALLET
CLASSIC ALBUMS BOX SET
Journeys to Glory, Diamond, True and Parade to be released in box-set
**16th April**

Following their sell-out Reformation World tour in 2009-2010, Spandau Ballet are re-releasing their first four albums, Journeys To Glory, Diamond, True and Parade as a box-set on 16th April.
With 23 hit singles over their career, spending an excess of 500 weeks in the UK charts and achieving album sales of over 25 million worldwide Spandau’s classic albums are a must-buy for ever music lover.

Spandau Ballet’s music provided a soundtrack to for a generation throughout the 80’s. From their underground beginnings in the clubs of Soho, via now legendary spectacular ground breaking events in the worlds hotspots in New York, Ibiza, Paris, St Tropez and Rome, to worldwide success, as one of the most commercially successful bands of the eighties, touring the worlds Stadiums and Arenas and appearing at Live Aid and in Band Aid, there is no doubt that Spandau Ballet were pop princes and have now become legendary pop kings.

Journeys to Glory was Spandau Ballet’s first studio album, released in 1981. It features the band’s iconic 1980 debut single To Cut a Long Story Short as well as The Freeze and Musclebound. At the heart of the New Romantic scene, Spandau Ballet’s early electro-synth-pop riffs started at the legendary Blitz Club where they effectively became the house band. To Cut A Long Story Short went on to become an era-defining slice of electronic myth-making.

1982’s Diamond featured chart hits Chant No. 1 (I Don’t Need This Pressure On), Instinction and fan favorite She Loved Like Diamond. Chant No.1 has been described as “a canny mix of contemporary funk and bottom-heavy agitprop, one of the most important records of the early Eighties, and this is not an opinion solely justified by hindsight.”

True was the album that made Spandau Ballet into worldwide superstars, it dominated the world’s airwaves with its four smash hit singles, Lifeline, Communication, True and Gold and topped the charts all over the globe. True and Gold have become “standards”. True recently won an award for 4 million airplays in the US alone and regularly appears in blockbuster movies and top rating TV shows worldwide. Gold has become a people’s anthem a song regularly sung in football, cricket and sports grounds of every description and this year has become the people’s unofficial Olympic anthem.

Parade was released in 1984 at the height of the band’s fame. With the band huge around the world, the album was released to adoration and rave reviews. It contained 4 massive worldwide chart hits which we still hear on the radio today Only When You Leave and I’ll Fly For You, Highly Strung and Round and Round and was a worldwide best seller.

This box set of the band’s first four albums is a great addition to anybody’s CD collection.
