LAWSON unveil video for debut single 'When She Was Mine' out 27th May

LAWSON

'When She Was Mine'
the debut single release
May 27th - Polydor

When She Was Mine’ is the epic debut single from guitar-pop four-piece Lawson. Produced by John Shanks, the Grammy Award winning producer of Take That’s albums ‘Beautiful World’ and ‘The Circus,’ ‘When She Was Mine’ is HUGE – sky-scraping guitars combine with sweetly soulful vocals and razor-sharp harmonies, underpinned by a taut, powerful rhythm section. Despite it’s uplifting vibe, ‘When She Was Mine’ is about a broken heart - Andy Brown, Lawson frontman, wrote the song after finding out that his ex-girlfriend had a new boyfriend.

We interviewed the band in December last year... read it HERE

Joining Andy (vox/guitar) in Lawson are Joel Peat (lead guitar), Adam Pitts (drums), and Ryan Fletcher (bass). Respectively from Liverpool, Mansfield, Brighton and Chesterfield, Lawson began life in 2009 when Adam contacted Andy, who had been posting acoustic covers on Youtube to ever increasing views, to say ‘I love what you’re doing, if you ever form a band can I be in it?’ And so they formed a band…. Adam contacted his friend Ryan who in turn recruited his music college buddy Joel, and the foursome soon got stuck in, rehearsing and gigging like men possessed.

Fast forward 3 years and Lawson, who signed to Polydor in autumn last year, are formidable live and have built an active and passionate fanbase – they sold out their debut headline tour in January, incredible for a band who have yet to release a single, and last week their upcoming Monto Water Rats show sold out in under 10 minutes. Lawson’s live prowess has been honed in front of some huge audiences; they have twice been on support tours with The Wanted, most recently last month’s arena tour, and also have supported Avril Lavigne and Will Young.
