The Union Theatre is proud to present the world premier of a new version of Chess, the Musical. The shows lyricist, Sir Tim Rice, has given the production team exclusive access to the concert version presented at the Royal Albert Hall in May 2008 to mount the first fully staged production, of what he calls the definitive version, of this epic musical.
Chess involves a romantic love triangle between two players in a World Chess Championship, and the woman who manages one and falls in love with the other.
Chess the musical will feature an experienced cast of 16 performers from the West End and Broadway Theatre.
Cast includes: Florence - Sarah Galbraith (Phantom, Steel Pier), Anatoly - Nadim Naaman (Phantom, Marguerite), Freddie - Tim Oxbrow (Jesus Christ superstar), Svetlana - Natasha J Barnes (Spring awakening, Lend me a tenor), Molokov - Gillian Kirkpatrick (Sweeney Todd, Billy Elliott), Arbiter - Craig Rhys Barlow and Walter - Neil Stewart.
