FANS GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO BID DRUMMER ADIEU AT LEEDS ARENA
British musical legend Matt Letley to make one of his final performances with the band at the venue
British boogie rock heroes Status Quo have announced today that they will be playing Leeds Arena later this year, for one of drummer Matt Letley’s final gigs before leaving the band after 12 years.
Part of an 11 date “Bula Quo!” UK Winter tour – named after the band’s debut feature film with soundtrack, to be released over the summer - the groups’ performance on Tuesday 17th December at the SMG operated venue, will take place two days before Letley has confirmed that he’ll leave the line-up permanently.

On the performance, Leeds Arena general manager Ben Williams said: “Almost 50 years since frontman Francis Rossi and guitarist Rick Parfitt themselves first performed together, Status Quo remain on of the country’s most beloved and long-standing rock acts.”
The band has had 32 albums feature in the British Album charts, which is more than any other band bar The Rolling Stones. Their 1999 hit album Rockin’ All Over The Years attainted triple platinum status, and stayed in the charts for over six months, including ten weeks in the top ten.
Ben continued: “The group really has had an amazing career. We’re delighted that they’ve found time in their busy schedule for their fans in the area, especially before Matt Letley’s final farewell.”
