Laura Mvula to support Keane at Kenwood House
Amazing summer evening open air line-up
Live By The Lake is exceptionally proud to announce that singer-songwriter
Laura Mvula will be supporting Keane at Kenwood House on the 25th of
August.
Laura has been described as ‘The voice of 2013’ by The
Evening Standard, and we can think of no better special guest for established
indie-rock Gods Keane. The fusion of this widely adored band and the singer whose
name is on everybody’s lips, looks set to make the 25th of August a
night to remember.
Laura’s music has been said to channel Nina Simone, George
Gershwin and Bjork amongst other musical icons. At just 26 years old, her style
merges her classical training and Caribbean background, making for a truly
unique and compelling sound.
Creating serious waves in the industry, Jessie Ware and
Paloma Faith have both asked Laura to join them on their UK tours this year.
She picked up a nomination for the BRITs Critics’ Choice
award, as well as coming fourth place for the BBC Sound of 2013. Live By The
Lake presents the opportunity to see her live, in the stunning setting of
Kenwood House’s grounds: an environment to do justice to her impressive and soulful
music.
