Sir Tom Jones, one of the biggest names in the music business, is set to return to York Racecourse to entertain the crowds on Music Showcase Friday evening, 27 July.
After more than fifty years of success, his live performances still enthral huge crowds, and his most recent albums. Long Lost Suitcase and Spirit in the Room received rave reviews.
Internationally loved for hits such as Delilah, Kiss & What's New Pussycat, he remains an artist with a true rhythm and blues soul.
Recognised by a new generation as a mentor of future talent through his role as a coach on hit TV show, The Voice, Tom returns to the Knavesmire, having sold out the venue in summer 2015.
The line-up for the three Music + Racing dates of 2018 is now complete; with Paloma Faithalready confirmed for Saturday 30 June and Boyzone recently confirmed for Saturday 28 July.
Looking back to look forward, the Welsh singing legend said; "The York races crowd were tremendous on my last visit, I've always loved outdoor shows and it's always lovely to be asked back, we're going to have some fun.”

This is an outdoor concert. To get closest to the stage, visitors will need to have either a County Stand or Grandstand & Paddock admission. The position of the stage for 2018 is as recent years, at the southern end of Bustardthorpe Lawn on the main grandstand side. It is at about the one furlong mark, some 20 metres from the track facing parallel to the direction of running. The elevation of Knavesmire Stand steppings offers a view over the stage and the angle permits viewing of races and stage from the County Stand Lawn. We will make good use of the giant screens for both racing and concert viewing. Please note in order to get closest to the stage racegoers will need to book entry to County Stand or Grandstand & Paddock; thereafter there are no reserved positions. Please note the price of admission reflects the wider facilities provided for the duration of the raceday and does not reflect a reserved position nor preferential view of the stage.
