On 23 September 2013, having travelled over 25,500 miles worldwide and performed almost 500 times as loveable chancer Francis Henshall, Owain Arthur returns to the Theatre Royal Haymarket to lead the cast in One Man, Two Guvnors, the National Theatre’s internationally acclaimed smash hit comedy.

Arthur will be joined by Angela Griffin as Dolly with Kellie Shirley and Peter Caulfield reprising their roles of Pauline Clench and Alfie, previous played in the One Man, Two Guvnors touring productions. Dominic Thorburn joins the cast to play Alan Dangle. Current cast members Sam Alexander as Stanley Stubbers, David Benson as Gareth, Ian Burfield as Charlie Clench, Amy Cudden as Rachel Crabbe, Derek Elroy as Lloyd Boateng and Hugh Sachs as Harry Dangle will continue in their roles.

Fired from his skiffle band, Francis Henshall becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe. But Roscoe is really Rachel, posing as her own dead brother – who’s been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers. Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a job with one Stanley Stubbers – but to prevent discovery, he must keep his two guvnors apart. Simple.

Now in its third year and currently booking at the Theatre Royal Haymarket until 1 March 2014, Nicholas Hytner’s five star production of Richard Bean’s version of Carlo Goldoni’s classic Italian comedy The Servant of Two Masters has songs by Grant Olding performed by The Craze. The physical comedy director is Cal McCrystal, with designs by Mark Thompson, lighting by Mark Henderson, sound design by Paul Arditti, fight direction by Kate Waters and choreography and associate direction by Adam Penford.

Multi award-winning One Man, Two Guvnors has now been seen by over 1 million people worldwide since it opened at the National Theatre in May 2011. In November that year, after its first UK tour, the show transferred to the Adelphi Theatre where it completed a sell out run. Since March 2012 the London production has been playing at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. The Broadway production of One Man, Two Guvnors completed its successful run at the Music Box Theater in 2012. A second UK tour ran from September 2012 to February 2013 and the International tour completes its run at the Arts Centre, Melbourne this week, having played across Australia as well as Hong Kong and New Zealand.

Owain Arthur returns from the acclaimed International Tour of One Man, Two Guvnors to play Francis Henshall having previously performed the role at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in 2012, on tour in the UK and having understudied James Cordon in the role at the Adelphi Theatre. Arthur has previously been seen in Nicholas Hytner’s National Theatre production of The History Boys, as well as Romeo and Juliet for the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Comedy of Errors for the Royal Exchange Theatre and Birdsong at the Comedy Theatre. On television his credits include Holby City, Ddeg, Cei Bach, New Tricks and The Palace. His film credits include Abroad, Mr Nice and Eldra.

Peter Caulfield (Alfie) recently toured with One Man, Two Guvnors on its second UK tour. His previous theatre credits include Me and My Girl at the Kilworth House Theatre, The Merchant of Venice and The Wind in the Willows at Derby Theatre, Enron for the Chichester Festival Theatre and Royal Court, Present: Tense for Southwark Playhouse, Man of Mode at the National Theatre, The Wild Duck at the Donmar Warehouse, Into the Woods at the Royal Opera House and Elegies: A Song Cycle at the Arts Theatre.

Angela Griffin (Dolly) will make her West End debut in One Man, Two Guvnors. She has worked extensively on television as an actress and presenter and was last on screen starring as Shelly in Sky 1’s comedy drama series Mount Pleasant. Griffin came to prominence in ITV1’s Coronation Street where she played hair dresser Fiona Middleton for 5 years. Her other television credits include starring roles in Holby City, Babyfather, Cutting It and Waterloo Road where she played teacher Kim Campbell from 2006-2010. She has also been seen in Hustle, Down To Earth and Waking the Dead all for the BBC as well as Open Wide and Boy Meets World both for ITV. As a presenter she has worked extensively for Sky 1 fronting her own daily talk show Angela and Friends as well as Emergency with Angela Griffin and in addition she co-hosted Sky’s coverage of the 2010 Oscars and Golden Globe Awards. On film she has been seen in Last Chance Harvey starring Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson.

Kellie Shirley (Pauline Clench) joins the West End cast having previously performed the role of Pauline in the production’s UK and international tours. On television she played series regular Carly Wicks in Eastenders from 2006 – 2012. Her other television work has included Lewis, The Office, Murder City, Parents of the Band, 20,000 Streets Under the Sky and The Bill. Her theatre credits include Cinderella at the Richmond Theatre, Rhoda at the Menier Chocolate Factory, State Fair at the Finborough Theatre, The Miracle at the National Theatre, Slam at Soho Theatre and Best of the Rest at the Royal Court. Shirley’s film credits include Frank, Girl on a Bicycle, Venus, The Grind, Heidi and Wimbledon.

Dominic Thorburn’s (Alan Dangle) theatre credits include Macbeth for the Manchester International Festival, Our Country’s Good for Bolton Octagon Theatre and the St. James Theatre, Henry V and The Winter’s Tale for Propeller Theatre Company and Henry IV Parts I & II for Theatre Royal Bath. His screen credits include Everywhere and Nowhere and I Shouldn’t Be Alive: Avalanche.

As well as One Man, Two Guvnors, for which he has won four international awards, Richard Bean’s work for the stage includes a version of David Mamet’s The House of Games for the Almeida, The Big Fellah produced by Out of Joint, Pub Quiz is Life for Hull Truck, England People Very Nice for the National Theatre, The English Game produced by Headlong, Up On Roof for Hull Truck, In The Club for Hampstead Theatre, a version of Moliere’s The Hypochondriac for the Almeida, The Heretic, Harvest, Honeymoon Suite, Under The Whaleback and Toast all at the Royal Court, The God Botherers for Bush Theatre, Smack Family Robinson for Newcastle Live, The Mentalists for the National Theatre and Mr England for Sheffield Crucible Theatre. His radio plays include Of Rats and Men, Yesterday, Unsinkable and Robin Hood’s Revenge
