Annie Mac Presents - 2013 Launch Party - London Koko Saturday 12th October

ANNIE MAC PRESENTS
2013 COMPILATION LAUNCH PARTY

London Residency at KOKO
Saturday 12th October

Saturday 12th October sees the much-anticipated return of Annie Mac Presents’ London residency at KOKO with a suitably exciting line-up featuring Annie Mac, Rustie, Route 94 and SOPHIE. The night will also be the official launch party for the release of the forthcoming Annie Mac Presents 2013 compilation which will be released in October.

Hailing from Glasgow, Rustie’s debut album ‘Glass Swords’ was released to huge fanfare in October 2011 and was nominated for The Guardian’s Album of the Year award and the inaugural Scottish Album of the Year prize, being rightly celebrated for its utterly ground-breaking style. In 2012 ‘Afterlight’, which was lifted as a single from ‘Glass Swords’, saw Rustie working with Aluna Francis (Alunageorge) and the track featuring on an Adidas advertisement leading up to the London Olympics. Beginning 2013 with a brand new single, ‘Triadzz / Slasherr’, Rustie continues to be an exciting and pioneering producer.

Route 94’s real identity currently remains an utter mystery, though he / she is frequently featured on Skream and Benga’s Radio 1 show. According to Skream and Benga, it’s a well-known producer under a new house-leaning alias, and we’re guessing there’s a clue in the name too: the 94 could refer to the London bus route, which travels from West London (Acton) to Piccadilly Circus. Then again, it could be a reference to the US Interstate 94, that runs between Detroit and Chicago. Either way, underneath all of this mystique Route 94 remains one of the most intriguing and emergent producers currently performing.

From Berlin to New York to Moscow, London and Barcelona, SOPHIE has been performing at Europe’s clubs, art institutions and magazine parties for the last couple of years. Releases are scarce, yet high profile supporters include Numbers, Jimmy Edgar, Skream and Actress, publications like Dazed and Confused and Sup Magazine have featured early interviews, and yet there has been no machine in place, the music itself has spread organically. SOPHIE's latest release - the twisted, technicolour 'Bipp - was released by Numbers this summer.

Annie Mac Presents is one of the most popular nightlife brands in the UK, featuring the best of up and coming artists and established DJs in dance and electronic music.
