Following sell-out runs in Sydney and Mexico City, the world’s greatest live magic show is coming to the UK. The Illusionists are a collection of seven of the finest magicians on the planet, who perform outrageous, mind bending illusions which literally allow audiences to witness the impossible. The Illusionists: Witness The Impossible, a show for audiences of all ages, will embark on its first UK tour from 24 September. Now, due to overwhelming popular demand, a further eight performances have been added to the UK tour schedule.

Premiering at Bournemouth’s Windsor Hall on 24 September, The Illusionists will then astonish audiences in Oxford, Blackpool, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Wolverhampton, Plymouth and Portsmouth, before ending their UK tour with four performances at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.

Simon Painter, Creative Director says: “We’re all very excited to be performing across the UK. We’ve taken this show around the world and have played in front of some amazing audiences, but I’m sure the UK crowds will be up there with the best of them. I hope you’re all ready to witness the impossible!”

Having launched in January 2012, The Illusionists: Witness The Impossible has toured the world with staggering success. Seen by 73,000 people across just 17 days in Sydney and Mexico City alone, the show is currently touring South America and will play to packed houses in Dubai before coming to the UK in September.

Showcasing jaw dropping acts of grand illusion, levitation, mind-reading, disappearance and for the first time ever in history, a full view water torture escape, The Illusionists: Witness The Impossible is a magic show like none other ever seen before.

The cast of The Illusionists is comprised of the following performers: Dan Sperry ‘The Anti Conjurer’, Jinger Leigh ‘The Enchantress’, Andrew Basso ‘The Escapologist’, Mark Kalin ‘The Gentlemen’, Kevin James ‘The Inventor’, Jeff Hobson ‘The Trickster’ and Philip Escoffey ‘The Mentalist’.

Each Illusionist is a master in their own field, and with the help of a world class ensemble cast of 20 assistants, they will each perform the most spectacular, mind blowing acts from their hugely impressive repertoires.

The Anti Conjurer’s mastery of the shock illusion will drop the jaw of every audience member and The Escapologist’s life threatening escape will shock and awe. The Gentleman and The Enchantress’ theatrical blend of illusion and stunning drama will make the unfathomable, a reality. The Inventor is the master of deception and the improbable and The Trickster fuses comedy and magic to devastating effect – but don’t be fooled by his innocent appearance. The Mentalist mingles with the thoughts and reads the minds of his audience, leaving no boundaries uncrossed and all questioning what they thought was reality.

Collectively, these performers have been seen by millions of people around the World and this production showcases their incredible talents together on stage for the very first time.

This group of world-class performers draw influences from the showmanship of the great illusionists of the past such as Harry Houdini, and pair it with a new and updated contemporary aesthetic, whose set and costume design lend the genre a theatricality and artistry that has rarely been seen before.
