DAVE SPIKEY heads to Leicester Square Theatre in November as part of his 'Words Don't Come Easy' UK tour

“Spikey’s gags are the stuff of stand-up dreams, his interplay and analysis the basis for clever laugh-after-every-line comedy!” LEICESTER MERCURY

With a further series of tour dates confirmed for Autumn 2013, and a script commission for a new comedy, Mad Jacks, for ITV, comedian and writer of such comedy gems as Phoenix Nights, Dead Man Weds and Magnolia, Dave Spikey, proves that from his point of view “Words do come easy”.

Dave is adding 6 dates to his critically acclaimed WORDS DON’T COME EASY tour which has seen the hugely popular Lancashire based comic tour venues around the UK for the past 3 years.

“Pure comic gold” LANCASHIRE EVENING POST

With his irresistible observational style of humour, there is never a dull moment in a Dave Spikey show. Packed with narratives gathered from his daily life, Dave puts a hilarious twist on even the most mundane events, reducing his audiences to a giggling pulp along the way!

“I wish I hadn’t worn mascara’, my companion remarked as she wiped away the tears as Dave Spikey left the stage. Immediately likeable and with spot-on observations, there was certainly one word that came easy for the audience – ENCORE!”  MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS
Inspired by the fantastic audience response to his deconstruction of song lyrics in his 2008/09 “Best Medicine Tour”, and his fascination with the vagaries of the English language in WORDS DON’T COME EASY, the former bio medical scientist examines many of life’s situations where words really don’t come easy. These include tongue-tied parents explaining the facts of life, adolescent chat-up lines, weird hospital speak, learning a foreign language and an extended selection of song lyrics that range from the lazy through surreal to the ridiculous. Whether he’s regaling tales of local news and misleading newspaper headlines or just everyday life experiences, the man who co-wrote and co-starred in comedy classic Phoenix Nights is sure to have his audiences rolling in the aisles …in a good way!

“Down to earth genius” LIVERPOOL ECHO

A committed vegetarian and animal lover, Dave will be launching his autumn comedy offensive with a show at London’s VegFest on 5 October where he will also be presenting the VegfestUK 2013 Awards www.london.vegfest.co.uk
