MONDAY 19TH MAY 2014 – THE LYRIC THEATRE, LONDON
Russell Scott Entertainment are delighted to announce the Broadway Revival of Godspell will be performed in Concert at The Lyric Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue, for one night only, on Monday 19th May 2014 in aid of Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, who grant magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.
The show, which was last seen in the West End in 1972, at Wyndham’s Theatre, has recently enjoyed a hugely successful run on Broadway and is currently touring the US.
By permission from Stephen Schwartz, composer of ‘Wicked’ and ‘Pippin’, Russell Scott Entertainment Limited, in association with In-House Casting, will be producing a concert charity performance featuring a West End cast plus special guests, a hand-picked band and a 32-strong choir led by members of Maida Vale Singers and American Musical Theatre Academy. The concert will be directed by Kenneth Avery Clark.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have been granted the rights to Godspell for this very special concert in aid of Make-A-Wish Foundation UK – a show I am very fond of and excited to be producing. It’s been too long since its last performance in the West End, and I’m delighted to be bringing it back!” says Russell Scott, Producer and Musical Director. Russell Scott has been in the industry for over 30 years, both as a performer and creative, aside from having produced a string of successful shows including ‘An Evening of Don Black’, ‘An Evening of Tim Rice’ and ‘From Stage And Screen… And Back Again!’ through New Talent Spotlight (www.newtalentspotlight.com).
The cast will be announced in early 2014.
