LEVEL 42 announce 'The Sirens Tour 2014'

Level 42
‘The Sirens Tour 2014’

London, December 3rd:  Level 42 today announce a full UK Tour for Autumn 2014, 18 dates all over the country culminating in a special show at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Sunday 26th October, tickets go on sale Friday 6th December at 9am from www.ticketmaster.co.uk.

Level 42 have relished global success for over 30 years producing an impressive discography packed with hit tunes in the instantly recognisable sound they’re loved for, and with the release of their latest EP ‘Sirens’ on the brand new Level 42 Records, they’ve gone right back to their roots with founder member Mike Lindup’s trademark vocals and multi- layered synths, driven as always by Mark King’s thundering bass lines, and Pete-Ray Biggin’s jaw dropping drums with remixes by the master John Morales.

As founder member and bassist Mark King reflected:
“I think 2013 will be seen as the year that rejuvenated disco/dance music, and ‘Sirens’ fits the bill perfectly so we’re excited to be taking this out on the road to our fans next year.”
This EP kicks off with the title track ‘Sirens’, an eerily hypnotic chill out groove, before easing into the loping, down-home funk of ‘Too Much Time’.  ‘Mind On You’ dumps us right back onto the dance floor with an ear-worm of a melody, then ‘My Independence Day’ takes us on a Balearic chill-out cruise with Lindup taking the vocal reins once again against a backdrop of dreamy synths and sixteenths-driven bass sequencer.‘Build Myself A Rocket’ introduces Marlee King on vocals (Mark’s daughter), and a full brass section attack that cries out to be the opener for The Sirens Tour in 2014, before the EP closes with a full-on funk rant titled ‘Where’s Yo’ Head At?’.

To date the band and Mark have released 14 studio albums, 7 live albums, and 6 compilation albums, had 18 top 40 singles, including Lessons in Love, Something About You, Leaving Me Now, Running in the Family, and Hot Water, sold out Wembley Arena for a total of 21 nights and sold in excess of 30 million albums worldwide.  In short they proved to be one of the biggest British bands of the 1980’s, and recent reissues as a major format has seen a host of re-masters and releases from Universal Music, Studio Hamburg, and River Records among others.

In 2001 Mark King acquired the rights to the name ‘Level 42’ and took the band back out on the road again where they continue to win over audiences where their unique sound and virtuosity as instrumentalists remains an inspiration to young players the world over.

Level 42 are:
