Tickets still available for Cirque du Soleil's QUIDAM at Royal Albert Hall from 4th Jan 2014
TEN EXTRA PERFORMANCES are added for Cirque du Soleil’s
at LONDON’S ROYAL ALBERT HALL
Cirque
du Soleil announced earlier this month the release of a further ten performances for
their award-winning production Quidam at the Royal Albert Hall.
With performances beginning on 4 Janaury 2014, Quidam’s limited
engagement in London is now booking to 16 Feburary 2014. Tickets are
available at www.cirquedusoleil.com/quidam or by calling 0845 401 5045.
Quidam received its world premiere in
Montreal under the Big Top in April 1996. Since then, the production has toured
on five continents and played to over 10 million patrons worldwide. During the
run of Quidam at the Royal Albert Hall, Cirque du Soleil will
welcome its 3 millionth London patron. In December 2010 Quidam embarked on a new journey,
performing the same production in arenas throughout the world.
Young
Zoé is bored; her parents, distant and apathetic, ignore her. Her life has lost
all meaning. Seeking to fill the void of her existence, she slides into an
imaginary world—the world of Quidam—where
she meets characters who encourage her to free her soul.
The
director of Quidam is Franco
Dragone, the artistic guide is Gilles
Ste-Croix, set designs are by Michel
Crête, costume designs are by Dominique
Lemieux and François
Barbeau, musical direction and
composition is by Benoit Jutras, with choreography by Debra Brown, lighting by Luc Lafortune and sound by Franc̹̹ois
Bergeron.
Quidam features an international cast of 45 world-class
acrobats from 19 countries across the globe, including the award winning acts Banquine,
in which fifteen artists perform sequences of acrobatics and human pyramids in
synchronized movements and Aerial Contortion in Silk combining intensity, power and grace suspended
high above the stage. Other acts include Aerial Hoops, Rope Skipping, Diablo and Juggling.
From a group of 20 street
performers at its beginnings in 1984, Cirque du Soleil is now a major
Quebec-based organization providing high-quality artistic entertainment. The
company has 5,000 employees, including more than 1,300 performing artists from
almost 50 different countries.
Since 1984, Cirque du Soleil has been seen by over 100 million spectators
in more than 300 cities in over forty countries on six continents.
