Cinderella shall go to the ball at The Brunton

Following the success of last year’s pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk, The Brunton are once again be working with writer and director Mark Cox, well known from his role as Tam Mullen in BBC Scotland’s Still Game to create this year's pantomime, Cinderella.

The Brunton specialises in producing professional traditional pantomimes. There are guaranteed to be lots of local references, topical gags, well known songs and chart toppers. All the elements of the traditional pantomime – designed specifically for a family audience.

Robin People’s fun, bright set received acclaim last year and he returns again to design both set and costumes. Robin is well known for his fabulous theatrical creations including set design for children's favourite The Singing Kettle.

The professional cast includes comic pair Richard Conlon and Mark McDonnell as the Ugly Sisters. They delighted audiences last year as the hilarious Cronk and Squelch in Jack and the Beanstalk. They are joined by Kirsty Halliday as Cinderella, Blair Robertson as Prince, Shonagh Price as Fairy Godmother, Derek McGhie as the Prince’s Manservant and Sean Hay as the Baron. Both Kirsty and Derek are well known in East Lothian for their tutoring work with East Lothian Youth Theatre and Brunton Players.

Local young performers join the professional cast to provide the chorus of villagers, rehearsing weekly with choreographer and East Lothian Council Dance Artist, Rhian Reynolds.

Cinderella runs at The Brunton from Tuesday 24 November 2015 until Saturday 2 January 2016. Tickets are available now from The Brunton Box Office on 0131 665 2240 or online at www.thebrunton.co.uk
