Casting announced for MAMMA MIA in Glasgow
Full casting
has been announced for the ultimate feel-good musical MAMMA MIA! Which arrives
at Theatre Royal, Glasgow this Christmas as part of the smash hit show’s first
ever UK tour.
MAMMA MIA!’s month-long
run at Theatre Royal follows the sell-out success of 2015’s Jersey Boys and
last year’s The Commitments.
The cast will
feature Helen Hobson (playing Donna Sheridan), Gillian Hardie (playing Rosie),
Emma Clifford (playing Tanya), Alex Bourne (playing Sam Carmichael), Jamie
Hogarth (playing Harry Bright), Christopher Hollis (playing Bill Austin), Lucy
May Barker (playing Sophie Sheridan), Phillip Ryan (playing Sky), Fia
Houston-Hamilton (playing Ali), Blaise Colangelo (playing Lisa), Louis Stockil
(playing Pepper) and Brad Veitch (playing Eddie).
Other
cast members include Gillian Ford who played Cinderella in the King’s Theatre
panto last year, Erica Jayne Alden, Peter Saul Blewdon, Aine Curran, Chris
Durtnal, Tilly Ford, Ian Gareth-Jones, Morgan Jackson, Rory Maguire, Kay
Milbourne, Hollie Nelson, Charlotte O’Rourke, Ellie Rutherford, Rebecca Seale,
Oliver Tester, Kyle Wardlaw, Jamie Wilkin and James Wolstenholme.
MAMMA MIA! is
Judy Craymer’s ingenious vision of staging the story-telling magic of ABBA’s
timeless songs with an enchanting tale of family and friendship unfolding on a
Greek island paradise. To date, it has been seen by more than 60 million people
in 50 productions in 16 different languages. MAMMA MIA! The Movie starring
Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan, is the highest worldwide grossing live-action
musical film of all time.
From
West End to global phenomenon, the London production of MAMMA MIA! has now been
seen by more than 10% of the entire UK population. It is one of only five
musicals to have run for more than 10 years both on Broadway and in the West
End, and in 2011, it became the first Western musical ever to be staged in
Mandarin in the People’s Republic of China.
MAMMA MIA! started
the first ever UK Tour at the Bristol Hippodrome in March 2016, and has
continued on to visit Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, Cardiff, Southampton,
Edinburgh, Plymouth and other UK venues.
