The Mavericks return to the UK for special 30th Anniversary shows!

In 2019, multi-platinum, Grammy-winning, rock’n’roll-country-Tejano phenomenon The Mavericks celebrate 30 years of entertaining millions of people around the world with a brand new 30th Anniversary tour. To commemorate this momentous tour they have put together a special 30th Anniversary playlist for fans designed to reflect the stage show and be a document of the band's stellar career to this point. Listen to this fantastic playlist here.
The Miami, Fl. band – back and better than ever since their reunion in 2012 – will mark three decades of uniting great Latino and American music traditions with a series of special events to celebrate this great band’s past and look to the future too. Over the summer of 2019, the band launch a unique version of their world-renowned live show that has won over crowds from across the world - including a limited run in the UK with shows at Hackney Empire, Glastonbury and Black Deer Festival!

With special staging and a unique narrative, this anniversary show will re-imagine The Mavericks’ catalogue from their early days in Miami’s punk and alternative scenes throughout their chart-topping years in the 90s and 2000s right up to their reunion and creative rebirth. As well as telling the story of The Mavericks it will chart the many ways that traditional Tex-Mex, Latino, Norteño and Tejano music has intertwined with country, rock’n’roll and the great American songbook – a true story of cross-cultural inspiration.

Discussing the UK run the band said; “We’re very excited to bring our Mavericks 30th Anniversary Tour to the U.K.! We’ll be visiting our catalogue of songs from all of the decades in this special travelling show. Our British fans are the best! We have many fond memories of sold-out nights at the Royal Albert Hall, appearances on Top of the Pops, and multiple shows in Hyde Park, just to name a few! Thanks for the memories, as we look forward to making new memories now and in our future…”

Few bands get to see even ten years in this business, let alone thirty. With a past to be proud of and a future yet unwritten, it’s time to celebrate The Mavericks one more time.
