Limelight presents the Scottish amateur premiere of Legally Blonde!

GUYS! Dunfermline based Theatre Company; Limelight Productions are set to stage
the Scottish amateur premiere of the Olivier award winning smash hit musical
‘Legally Blonde’ at the Alhambra Theatre from 6th - 10th October.
This will be
the first time the musical has been presented by a Scottish amateur company
having previously been restricted by rights holders, Josef Weinberger due to an
acclaimed West End run and UK tour. The
show celebrated its UK amateur premiere earlier this year when Wolverhampton Musical
Comedy Company, MUSCOM staged the production at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre,
playing for seven highly successful performances. Snaps to Limelight!
Legally
Blonde the musical is based on the 2001 film, starring Reese Witherspoon, and
sets out to tell the story of Elle Woods, a sorority-sister valley girl who’s
life is turned upside down when her perfect boyfriend, Warner dumps her in a
bid to get more “serious” and attend Harvard Law School. Determined to get him back, Elle uses her charm
and wit to enrol herself at Harvard but her plan is flawed as she struggles
with her peers, professors and her ex. With the help of new found friends,
Paulette and Emmett, Elle soon realises her potential and sets out to prove
herself to the world, finding an unusual (yet obvious) kind of love along the
way. After all, ‘being true to yourself, never
goes out of style…’
Limelight
Productions formed in 2006 and has presented annual productions at the Alhambra
Theatre since 2009. In 2014 the company began its dual-show contract, staging
two shows a year and has since celebrated consecutive, successful runs of
productions including ‘Calendar Girls’, ‘Aida’ and ‘Hairspray’. ‘Legally
Blonde’ marks the company’s 14th production and is set to paint the
town pink, as it seeks to prove as successful as its preceding shows.
With a fabulous
score, witty script and undeniably infectious characters, this pink-tastic
production that has it all. With more fun and fuchsia than the average musical,
Scottish audiences are in for a real treat when the Limelight production
premiers in Dunfermline this October!
